so true. that is a valid point. i think the others are just tired of the noobness repetition is all. and that is a fair for them to say especially given the amount of time they have been an ASC member.

Romeo Sierra, dunno where you play (since you apparently couldn't be bothered to fill out your location), but as Red Tiger pointed out there are plenty of games with 30, 50 or 100+ players. So I can only guess the real problem is you live out in the sticks. Or are underaged and have nowhere to play (you arent verified and didn't bother filling out your age, either).

As someone once said on another thread, you might be the nicest and best intentioned person face to face, but online we can only judge you by what and how you write. And if some n00b comes on typing like an idiot, and asking idiotic questions, then the impression we get is that he is an idiot.

There's plenty of new people who come on and do well. We "notice" the 'tards because they get flamed and it draws attention. But I know there are new players who do just fine.

I would have to totally disagree with this comment SM. Our club here in Victoria is part of a larger association consisting of over 1300 members, all involved in different shooting disciplines. Included in that is IPSC, PPC, skeet and trap shooters, cowboy and frontier shooters, black powder etc etc. After doing a presentation to the Executive members of the association, and following to a general meeting, we were welcomed with open arms. Not one person in either the general or executive meetings showed ANY concerns as to what we do nor showed any animosity towards us. As an airsoft club we have access to some of the best facilities available, and an airsoft playing grounds that would be second to none anywhere in Canada. And we get this all for a set yearly fee. $90. Members of all ages within the association have expressed an interest in what we do, and are very complimentary as to the levels we take it, especially in regards to safety.

Best advice I could give any airsoft club in Canada, would be contact your local outdoor shooting sports facility, or club. You maybe very surprised by the reaction you receive, especially if you put forward a well thought out and professional presentation.

EDIT: Twice every month the Black Powder group has its regular shoot, complete with cannons. If you want some realistic background noise to your game days.....this is awesome!!

maybe in west, but not necessarily in eastern, things aren't the same here.

do you really think that the 50-60 year old trap shooter or black powder shooter will play airsoft?

they maybe arent the same in location, but at heart we are all sportsmen??

has anyone tried contacting a local group out there?....talking with them and maybe TRYING to get some feed back from them?

maybe not to the point of attending an event the size of keystone, but on a local level here there are some 'more mature' interested persons, from both sexes I might add, that at least try the weapons we use and have a much better understanding of exactly what Airsoft is and is all about.
You have to understand by putting a 'professsional' (for lack of a better discription) presentation forward, doors opened. Ask anyone within SIR.

With over 1300 members as I previously stated, 6.5% or roughly 50 members have expressed an interest in airsoft and what airsoft is all about. What better way to showcase what we do. Where could you find a better environment to show off the sport??? And all of this has occured within the first year.

mcguyver is right, i thought i was gonna be the 'old' one... lawl at 21 i'm usually the youngest. Which doesn't bother me at all, it's nice to hang out and play with older people. At least you don't have to deal with the daily crap of teenagers! (Altho some people's maturity is questionable during certain games hehe :D )

All in good fun i say. At the end of the day if your going home with a grin on the face and new friends = victory!

Donster not quoting all of you. Between Brian down at Tac, myself at splatters Jim up in Barrie what excuse does a player not have with going to games during the winter. and that's just the regular stuff. Brian runs TAC Tuesday and Fridays, I have Thursdays and Jim likes running a wasaga game every month or so. The noobs want to get out of the chairs... one of us will know it in the GTA.

Its been touched on but ill summarize it in more, simple terms..

If you want a reputation with us, you will only get it in person.. If you wanna talk shit and hide behind a computer monitor? fine.. but you wont be around much after.

im saying there is no real excuse IMO, but some might not want to rent a gun and whatnot. i personally think that is stupid, but im just giving both sides of the story for everyone to look at is all. like i said, i tried to go to as many games as possible, until now, where i will just wait for my xmas money.

It's a well known fact that I've made an ass of myself online (more than once).. but people that know me (in real life), know what I'm about. And it's easier to explain your opinion when talking to someone who isn't 10,000km away :p

Point is; reputations aren't made on the forums, they're made on the field.

And work is being done on adding another series of indoor games in the Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge and Cowtown area. I'd say this is going to be a fairly active winter for Southern Ontario.

my friend from hong kong likes to play.. but he can't justify 600 dollars for an AEG...

if prices were better of there would be some more players
