If you like getting shot in the face, and having bb pimples, sure don't use paintball goggles. Wearing tactical eye protection just to not be a wussy, is a retarded pissing contest. Posing for the look is different, but playing, heck no.

Lol, how long have you been playing hockey for? You've got it on backwards buddy, it is supposed to cover the top row of teeth. Also, my balaclava has prevented my teeth from being chipped, I took a few bb's in the teeth, and no noticeable damage to them, thanks to the balaclava.

I don't know about you guys, but my eyes are damn valuable to me.

I could care less about my teeth, though. I've got a great dental plan.

I usually where Bolle Tac but I prefer ballistic safety glasses nowadays. If they can stop buck shot from a 12 gauge, it's good enough for me (barring, playing with metal BBs at +500 fps).

Sorry, correct me if I misunderstood that. You'd rather play with ballistic glasses, than ballistic goggles? Don't the glasses leave gaps on the top and the bottom, and allow bb's to enter?

I have both, when I wear my 'glasses' they're strapped. They dont' come off unless I unclip them. Very formfitting too.

You are right, in terms of that extra security against a stray BB getting through a sealed goggle against your face is an advantage.

Hah, now all I have to do is find a ballistic gas mask with air conditioning and Visor IR/normal LEDs... :D

I've tried the whole Paintball goggle thing, but even with a Spectra Thermal (Just the goggles themselves, with ear an' mout guards removed) I've had severe problems with fogging. Tried the fans, tried the anti-fog spray...didn't work. I stopped usin' them because I felt the risk of not seein' where I was goin' outweighed what protection they offered me...as the fields around here are rather rocky with sharp drops which can only end in severe injuries.

That bein' said, I have found that AOS Safety Glasses (The Anti-fog ones) from Canadian Tire (Oh I work for them, discounts :D) are the best, an' I have never fogged once since purchasing them a year ago. The main downfall has been mentioned, the whole stray BB, an' it has happend to me before. I dropped to my back to avoid a burst from infront of me, but one of the BBs caught the edge of the glasses an' bounced just below my eye. There were no injuries..but it goes to show the main drawback of those...

I s'pose the only comprimise I have seen/used/heard about are the Bolle Tactical goggles, they seem to be the best of both worlds, but still fog up from time to time. Nothin' is perfect, but I feel they would be a bit better then Safety Glasses an' Paintball Goggles in terms of eye safety.

Can anyone recommend a low profile paintball mask? I had one i mind but when i tried it on i still couldnt see the iron site without having a aimpoint attached to my gun.

take a look at raven goggles.
they're paintball approved and are pretty tight to your face.

I use the raven NVX for airsoft, with the ear pieces removed, works quite well, and sits real close to your face, I have no trouble using iron sights with it... I would still like to try out a kevlar hood though... I'll let everyone know how it works when I try.
