that's what a www.ghilliesuit.com cost if you order it, and they are uber crap. Not that expensive... i only charge 20$ an hour for the work, which is very long and tedious. ;)

Honestly tho, more then 20hours into making a ghillie is time wasted.

FOX_111 June 23rd, 2005 21:34

It took me longer because I had to re enfoce and modify the base BDU, and set the place up. Im talking total time, preparations included.

I did it a little at the time, like 1 or 2 houres a day.

That's why It took about 60h. And Im not finished since all the shoulder and upper harm erea have ripped off and I have to redo it.

I used to sew only the netting with a standard strand but it kept ripping appart. So Now I use a tripple stich and I should add shoegoo on top of it, but for now, my stichs are holding well. I even caught mysleft in a strong branch and my ghillie almost dragger me to the ground and stayed intact.

They're definately right about doing it watching TV and whatnot... kills the time super fast, you're bored, put on some tunes and just work away at it... it's like old ladies and knitting :P... seriously though, best way to do it, and it goes by like twice as fast as if you're just sitting there dragging away, plodding along through it.

WOW thats real nice.
Ow goodnews, i found a stalker suit for just under 200$ i saw the picture's of the stalker suit and i am impressed, a sniper of the britisch army made's them too.

I also happen to have made one myself and indeed it takes a lot of patience. Preping the suit, stiching the net are the longest part of the job. For myself I didnt dye my burlap, I simply sprayed it with krylon that way I can customize it to any environnement I work in. I dont have pics yet but now its in desert partern for op colorblind. I'll take pics as soon as I get my damn fucking M24 which ''should'' be monday.

TH_CYRUS50 June 24th, 2005 10:46

SEALs you said M24, wicht version do you have??
And wich kind of upgrade's are you planning to buy??.
I orderd the gas converion, i will only use it in the summer and have my spring upgrade for in the winter.

Tanaka gas version no upgrade planned for now except for the tightbore barrel and G&G rubber set. 400+ fps out of the box with .36g bbs I belive its enought.

TH_CYRUS50 June 24th, 2005 12:15

Ok i have a 450 FPS spring upgrade but soon the ags conversion will be installed.
This way i will keep my stealth.

This is the one i'm currently using. 20hours to make it. I did mine while watching TV or listening to music. Goes by really fast. Sold 2 exactly like it. charged 400$ for each.

You need patience, lots of it.

I was looking into making my own ghillie so I got a question. Both those Ghillies were made with just jute right? they look really good.

CDN_Stalker June 24th, 2005 17:41

Fox_111 and I both have M24s as well, CA version 2, upgraded (though mine is worn out, I can still get .36g BBs out past 200ft), I have a bunch of Guarder parts coming in. CA M24 is a workhorse, big time! Real rugged. Have a KJW M700 that I am still learning it's potential, but it's a nasty mother on propane, and a bit tweaky regardless. Duster is pretty much mostly what I use in in, depending on the tempurature of course. Below 20C I'll consider using propane.

FOX_111 June 25th, 2005 03:02

This is tha shit

STILL can't get over that paintjob!!! Man oh man! Pretty useful camo you put on there Fox, nice job! Mine has been reworked some since I took this pic. Doesn't hang down as much. Guess the humidity and hot weather made my ghillie grow!

TH_CYRUS50 June 25th, 2005 14:49

Stalker how do you switch mags with amount of cammo??

-CY

FOX_111 June 25th, 2005 16:26

the ghilli make a little "tent" under the rifle, so you just brush asside the jute hanging and switch mags. It don't really get in the way, unless you are in a odd position.

In most games, a Mag of 20 rounds will last almost all day (milsim). I load my 2 mags and Im ready for the day hehe.

TH_CYRUS50 June 25th, 2005 17:48

Well mil-sim is something that in europe is a wanted thing, but most Airsofters are equiped with hi-caps.
Myself is planning getting low caps, if neccesary i can alway's use the hi-caps as back-ups for my AEG
How ever mil-sim is making its apearence.

I have voor my M24 2 mags
