Digital is the way the pattern is produced. So yes, A-TACS (like Multicam, probably Fleck too and most other modern pattenrs) are digital.

What you mean is pixelated, like UCP, CADPAT, etc.

Also, A-TACS is a family of patterns. There won't be one pseudo-universal pattern, but instead several in different color schemes (urban, jungle [more green], woodland [green brown], desert and probably an artic/winter one too).

IT IS NOT DIGITAL!!!! for crying out loud it does not have a digital pattern! it is organic! look at it! its not pixelated or squares! look up pencott and it is basically like the same concept! Andt plus one to drake! this pattern has been released a year ago! been eyeing it since forever! And the manufacturing of it does not follow patterns like what they do with digital stuff like cadpat or UCP.No they manufacture it differently.

Edit: Yeah ITS tactical actually announced that propper was making this available in ACU in 2011 last month. And yes I was freaking out like a tween who is at a Beiber concert!

I think you forgot to take your Ritalin :D

As for being digital or not, technically it could be classified as digital as it is organic pixelization. It's designed by using a mathematical algorithm to create these organic pixels. DCS states this themselves :p

Atac has been around for a while as others have stated, however this camo is not as universal as you think. Its more black and khaki in person than the photos show. The camo swatch that was posted shopwing green....don't look at it because in person it doesn't show up.

As for the pouches, they are pretty nice looking, EXCEPT for the MOLLE color, it sticks out a lot, in a bad way. I personally like to mix ATAC with coyote to look better and break things up.

Uniform wise, it'll work great in winter woods with minimum snow, urban environments such as MOUTs or decayed cities. Also the Desert is ok but I still prefer the A'Stan issued DCU with a slight hue of pink.

Yeah if it helps, look at some spray painted SEAL kit from A'Stan, basically the grungy black khaki coyote they do is what ATAC is based off.

I remember seeing this stuff about a month or so ago and I loved it ever since, I cannot wait to see all the patterns they are going to use. I like how it uses the reflect the environment around it to blend like multicam.

damn i really want those bdus, gonna be damn expensive tho

EagleDriver December 31st, 2010 14:45

A-TACS is working on five different color variations (desert, arid, woodland, etc.) based on the "new" (or "new old"?) US Army requirement for different colored camo for different theaters. I'm going to be at the Shot Show in January, and should have some pics and info after that.

now one of us gotta figure out how to duplicate it and do it for the guns, and isnt ATAC part of 5.11? i might be wrong so some one correct me please.

This actually looks quite easy to reproduce if you look closley it almost and by almost i mean close enuff looks like it can be done with some chunks of sponge kida like faux finishing a wall but on a smaller scale and looks like at least 4 colors.

EDIT: shoulda kept that to myself FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

Kozzie January 5th, 2011 23:23

I'm just waiting to find a place to get it, Mirage too. This is very cool effective camo IMO
