Acid44: Dude.. That's what a rail system is great for. Buy yourself a large Noveske model and it will do exactly what you are trying to do.

Acid44 June 17th, 2013 11:24

Yeh pretty much planning to do that, now that the Magpul idea fell through. Just gonna be hard to find a rail system that lives up to my aesthetic standards :p

Just need to decide between the newer, small Eotech that I can never remember the name of, the T1, or an Acog with a fiber optic deally...

Zack The Ripper June 21st, 2013 09:50

EOTech 551 or 553 would look great on it.

T1 with a high riser mount, done !

Specter dr. I have the exact config and the specter is awesome for that length of rifle. I love them so much, the second one for my scar isin the mail ;)

Rooster June 21st, 2013 14:18

Pics Dutch? I was thinking a DR would look nice..

Wilkie June 21st, 2013 23:21

Oh believe me, a Specter was on my mind :D Just not sure If I'm ready to spend $250 On an optic yet, though typing that, I'm not sure why. I spent at least that on the new upper.

Maybe I will go down that road!

Unfortunately I told my field tech I'll be ordering a AIMS style AK from him soon, and don't want to back out on him. I'll just run irons for a little while, and then see about that

Damn it, I just read the G&G Elcan Specter is $189, instead of the $250 I thought it was. This is happening... My Wallet's blood is on your hand, Dutch! :D

Not really an AR-15 person, but for 130 (KA from that Cabela's clearance sale) I figured it'd be worth it for practice and as a backup.

Paint is drying right now. I'll probably throw a RIS, Tasco Red Dot, and PEQ on it eventually. The PEQ is probably first on the list though, as pulling that Delta ring back to remove the handguard is hell.

Side note: any ideas on softening the Delta ring pull? I've got the handguards in the front and the rear ledges against the edge of the ring to try to soften/compress it, but I don't know if that'll work.

Rooster June 25th, 2013 21:16

Probably won't help. I think the Delta ring spring is actually a honey comb style spring. I'm pulling my Delta ring off tomorrow to put a DD rail on mine (hopefully), so I'll snap a pic or two and post in the Cabelas thread for you.

Immelmann June 25th, 2013 21:47

Indeed it is. It's also too tight to be able to snip a bit off. And thanks :)

Have you had any trouble with the two main triangle sight pins? I can't move them at all

Rooster June 25th, 2013 22:02

I haven't tried yet, but my last KA I think I ended up swapping the whole barrel... I'll have to find a big hammer..
