I would think that calling your local post office and explaining the situation to them then asking if they can give you a quote or an general idea would be good.

Dont know if it works but thats how I would deal with it.

Your local post office would have no idea what the CBSA or whatever courier that your using charges.

So will there be duty? And what would a general estamate be?

Thanks in advance

It really depends on Customs. Possibility of them opening up your package for inspection is more likely if you're ordering from overseas. I've gotten packages that looked like it's been fed to a dog. They might slap on a 20% (or more) duty on the estimated value, and of course taxes. :(

I don't think so.

However they do use either Hong Kong Post Or EMS, if you pay for standard or express shipping.

pwahahaha man i just didnt think lol yeah as you said... both are cheap on duties and transfer with canada post in here... lol

They say USPS right on their site but everything I've had from them was by Speedpost by way of Canada post. Maybe that's mostly meant for US customers to read and feel reassured by.

I bought two vests off of them and nothing.

I recently bought from px-airsoft.com, interesting how the box came with an invoice outside of it that shows deflated prices of the items i bought. i bought nearly 200usd worth of goods, on the invoice they reported a total value of $70usd. along with shipping via hk post (canada post here), the result is no fees :D

does ehobbyasia do something similar?

Ayashifx55 December 2nd, 2009 10:47

you can tell ehobby to rate your package 40$ USD or else you won't pay ;) ..... This applies for USPS , HKpost , china post , ect.... try negociating with the online stores always before buying ... They can screw you over , like airsoftgi with their 20.91$ USD valued package. You have to end up paying 22$ taxe. (for lower than 20$ value are applied for UPS, fedex , purolator,ect....)
