I'm having trouble finding them, and I'd be very interested to know what kind of margins they're willing to work with. I suppose if they want to be in business to simply pass time then they could give them away at cost. The numbers don't lie. We're not taking advantage of anyone here. I know I don't have much room to play with on my pricing when it comes to G&G. G&G knows they have good products, and charge their dealers accordingly.

In fact, I'd have to place an order of 500 guns + to get an additional 5% discount from them! Only 5%..They're sticking to their pricing with Canadian retailers. With an extra 5% I doubt that will change the price much. 500 guns with one brand is a little too rich even for the up and coming Mach1airsoft organization. Support the Canadian dealers if you can. It's appreciated. We're doing all we can, and going about it honestly and legally.

At least I am. I get the impression KenC is definitely a stand up guy as well.

Oh I understand all about margins and the like but none the less the fact remains that for the cheaper clear stuff (Aftermath, Cybergun, Firepower, Crosman) it has become plentiful on this side of the border and so those margins cant bear the same mark up that non-clear guns bring. Supply and demand isnt personal so dont take it as a personal attack on you or any other retailer- as Ken has said it just isnt going to be worth it for him to carry them and that makes sense.

But while I think you and a few others may get your orders direct from a proper US distributor it is obvious that many are just buying guns from US retailers and then re-selling them. When your customer base can also order those same clear guns at those same US prices then it really makes no sense to carry them much less to charge $100CAD above what someone would pay by ordering that same clear gun themselves. Not for online sales where impulse buying is just a click away. The G&G guns you mentioned are an excellent example of a 'clear' quality gun that is NOT easy to obtain in Canada or the USA so they would clearly be more profitable to carry than Cybergun or Aftermath or Crosman etc.

for example:
If I want a clear Kraken there is close to 5 Canadian stores online and one ASC retailer who have them at near USD MSRP here in Canada. There is no 'extra $100' tacked on as those stores clearly purchased the guns at USD costs for US retailers which are below the prices the general buying public pay. That is how all proper business's work- you dont generally pay msrp sticker price. Like you most go through a proper dealer and those rates determine your mark up- typically such that you can price your merch at msrp or as close as possible. As I said the obvious 'culprit' here is that some Canadian stores clearly have better suppliers/distributors on the US side of the border and so they can do a Canadian MSRP based on the US price because they are not buying them from other US retailers but actual distributors.

lmao LeGros if you are paying $50 in shipping for one gun then another $50 in taxes from the US then I'd suspect your shipper isnt giving you the best rates as the most I ever had to pay for 3 AEGs shipped from the USA with tracking was $36 for shipping and $20 each in taxes for a total of $96 for 3 guns. USPS rates are so low that CANPost rates seem almost sinful in comparison ;)

UPDATE: Cabelas is selling the Sig 552 at $164.99. That's damn good.

OFF TOPIC: They've also got Kraken AK-47s priced at $119.99.

EDIT: Is it a JG (the Sig)?

Styrak January 27th, 2009 19:06

No, Krakens are not JG's. I believe they're WELL rebrands.

JG's are much higher quality.

Does anyone know what the initial charge time is for the 8.6v batter that comes with the Cybergun Sig 552?

Karnage February 3rd, 2009 10:17

If you're going to pay $120 for that Kraken you will be severely disappointed.
300fps with .12g BBs
