Well thanks to the help of TokyoSeven and his engineering background, we cobbled up something in the garage.
http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4298.JPG As you can see, it's a very simple device. The top is a replacement mount for an Optex tripod, price of $15. I removed the safety 'pin' although on second thought, I probably should have left it on. Oh well. http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4301.JPG I then epoxy'd the L-bracket to the tripod mount and let it sit for 30 hours outside (trust me fellas, if you haven't experienced the 'joy' of the epoxy-smell, it REALLY is not a pleasant thing to experience) http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4303.JPG The L-Bracket is then mounted quite securely to a spare scope mount. http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4306.JPG And then mounted onto the side of the PSG-50 http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4310.JPG The scope mount is then mounted to my RAS http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4311.JPG http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4314.JPG And then with the camera mounted and ready to go http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4316.JPG Oooh... I could use the video camera as my scope :D:D:D http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4319.JPG I'll just pick up a filter (39mm) to protect the lense http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4322.JPG And also find some sort of protection for the screen itself. The downside is that the bloody camera turns off/stops recording as soon as the little window closes... damnit. http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4323.JPG Y HELLO THAR http://uploader.beezsk.com/aqua/mount/IMGP4326.JPG |

OR There will be an "eye piece button" that toggles between the two screens. Nice setup, by the way, too bulky for my liking, but it's still damn nice. |
No eye-piece. Sadly.
|
Well... poo. Gonna need to be careful then ;)
|
Well Im glad you liked my idea. When I have time I'll try and come up with something a little more solid. Even though this rig is solid now, Id like to try and improve on it and maybe even create a shield for the screen some how.
But hey it was simply quick thing that was effective. Props to you for supplying materials Aqua. |
I will need to file down the front angled edge of the L-bracket since it rips open my wrist.

You think about maybe getting some of these: http://www.tekgear.com/index.cfm?pag...n=viewproducts Well not exactly, but maybe cook one up on your own? |
Too much work I think. Oh well :)
