Looks like CA's move into the GBB market is finally reaching fruition, too.

Mag pouches for the P90 are stupid simple if you take a moment to think.

Not only have companies like TT released official UMP/P90 magazine pouches, but other companies have had suitable pouches for years now, most notably most "pop flare pouches" The pop flare is the same size as P90 mag. Phantom also makes a pretty cheap yet awesome copy.

Seriously, I'm tired of people here shitting on various AEGs for bullshit reasons. "Its chinese, it must be shit!" "It has wierd mags, it must be shit!".

Seriously, just look into it abit.

umm CA g36 have fake bullets in their standard, but so far CA P90 ones does not show a sign of any. And the finish looks like chinasoft no offense, seams can be seen easily.

As for P90 pouch, check Thevestguy, hes got like everything you need for P90

The CA G36 does not have fake bullets in the magazine standard. I have one sitting next to me with its included hicap magazine, no fake bullets to be seen. If yours does, it must have a TM or KA lowcap. Those do have fake bullets.

CA has really pulled up their quality standards compared to a couple of years ago. I don't think we can really judge its quality from an early photo. Considering how awesome their B&T and G36 series are (and moderately high marks for the M15 as well), I'm sure the P90 will be quite good.
I'd also personally prefer the RD version.

*edit at kullwarrior below:
Yep, all CA guns stock come with a hicap, so no fake bullets, even though the CA G36 locaps have em. I forgot that CA made G36 lows as well :p therein lies the confusion I guess.
True about producing the RD version being more difficult/expensive. They'd have to find an optics manufacturer to work with on it. Note that TM was already well off in this regard (TM pro sights, the Aimpoint included with the MP5 RAS, etc), and that TM's P90RD production stopped a little while ago (since resumed) partially because of problems with the optics manufacturer (and the molds for the optic/receiver as well, if that wasn't just a rumor).
It would probably be easier to transplant a TM RD receiver onto a CA, since it'd be cheaper than a real one (no awesome double ring + illuminated T though, just the basic red dot), but really, no point if you need to butcher a P90 just to get a P90 back :p

About dryfiring, there is an electronic hopup chamber (armalite) being produced by someone for regular AEGs that detects last round firing and prevents dryfire (one of my AEG pet peeves too... leaning towards gas to avoid it, since a PTW still makes that angry sewing machine sound). Think about that as a cheaper alternative to the PTW if that's the only thing hanging you up on a traditional AEG.

**I hope the CA P90TR comes with a metal receiver (unlike TM, but very like CA).

Could be wrong if they give hi-cap instead.
I think the standard P90 is harder to make compare to the TR where you can use stick three rails and your done basically. I'm pretty sure the standard version now can only be done by getting a metal/ plastic receiver of standard ones and buy a MC-10-80 at $700 (yea its that retail price)
I'm still solid on not buying CA/TM just because of dry firing

You mean buying anything that isn't a PTW?

ProbeJax February 19th, 2008 14:40

I don't see why people complain about mag pouches. I've got three on my leg, and can clamp more to a vest. They're really easy to find too, because lots of places carry them as "nessary speciality" pouches.

Rumpel Felt February 19th, 2008 14:41

And....what do you buy pray tell?

ProbeJax February 19th, 2008 14:46

You mean what brand my pouches are?

tunabreath February 19th, 2008 14:50

I think I've broken some post editing etiquette rules, so I'll just make a new post.

I found the link for that hop up chamber. Apparently it comes in the AK variety as well:

Yes, CA makes low-caps with fake bullets, but the mag that comes with the G36 is a Hi-cap.

It's most likely going to be the same with the P90.

LUTNIT February 19th, 2008 20:43

Long mags with a P90 wasn't a bullshit reason, I never said it was hard to get mag pouches. Changing mags in very tight quarters (like curled into a ball behind a rock not big enough to cover my entire body while being shot at by a dozen enemies) is next to impossible, I know this from experience. Also when I had a chest full of P90 mags I couldn't bend over well (I'm 6'3" so its not cause I'm short.) Mag changes are awkward and slow (don't try to bullshit me with the "you need to practice more" shit because with the same experience level an AR/G36 mag change will always be faster than a P90 mag change.) The lowcap mags themselves have fake bullets (harder to import), the hicaps for the P90 are practically useless, and very limited battery space.

The P90 is also my favorite subgun of all time, I absolutely love how it looks but I've tried using one and an AK/AR/G36/M14/etc. just makes more sense to me for practicality. The P90 has arguably the best hopup design in existence surpassing even pro-win or the PTW, the ver.6 mechbox is practically indestructible, and the bullpup design means you can fit a long barrel in a very small package (had an M16 barrel in my old one and it was still shorter than an M4.)

ThunderCactus February 19th, 2008 22:04

FYI the SCAR-H is out, someones already ordered one lol
Forget the P90, lots of people are still waiting for CA to release the RPK :p

Not sure if there's a guniea pig tried import seperated. (Magazine in one package, bullets in another. Basically one list as Sporting goods, another inert rounds)

LUTNIT February 19th, 2008 23:06

Would mean asking the retailer to take apart the mags. Could work, just make sure its someone who doesn't have a flagged address by customs (so not me :()
