They come in different colours, but you can fit any gun into it and place it anywhere you have PALS webbing to attach it to.

Really hard for me to decide but for my Kit I have my holster on my leg, I have too much stuff on my vest and adding a holster on that is going to be difficult incase I have to draw it out quickly! but if you aint like me and some others try it out, won't hurt but I suggest a leg holster it's what I use and it's quick!

Is the pistol more likely to receive damage in dropleg position?

I don't see how having a pistol in a leg holster would get it anymore damaged than a chest holder, really. With all the mags that I'm carrying on my vest, It's gonna be bulky enough in the field as-is. I don't care to add extra bulk and weight or something else for my rifle sling to get tangled up in. So for my immediate needs, that vest works for me. Perhaps down the road I may consider getting something MOLLE, but for now, this one will do fine.

I personnally dive often, especially in the woods.
for me the most secure position is a real holster (not a magpouch that will drop the pistol at the worst moments) on the chest as a cross-draw.

dropleg holsters bang in the walls in cqb and get caught in the vegetation unless you are very careful.(or you play like a leek, stand up and don't move.)

If you need to crouch for a long time the straps mess with your legs, and if they are connected to a belt at the bottom of a tactical vest, it's even worse.
If you play physical and speedy, you don't want heavy stuff hanging from your legs and moving around, especially a fragile airsoft pistol that's nothing like a real pistol.

I don't know how GBB's take on dirt, and there would be greater odds of dirt exposure on the leg.

for a semi cadpat MOLLE he could always buy a olive vest and just use cadpat pouches

I agree with Crunchmeister here, I'm carrying alot of stuff on my vest, many mag pouches, radio and all that fun junk adding a pistol holster takes up space which could be used for other things.

I'm an Assaulter so I put the pistol on my leg, even if I'm running into grab and all that the holster keeps the thing protective as well, you'll maybe get scratches on it but thats a given.

So dirt isn't really an issue compared to comfort and function?

They're pretty dirt-resistent compared to AEGs, at least I'd think. Although I can't speak from experience since I've never fielded my guns yet.

Oh yeah... one thing I do like about this vest is that it has belt loops on it. That's really nice. I hate having heavy shit (holster, mag dump pouch, canteen, etc) on a hip belt and have the weight of the gear constantly pulling the belt down. With that vest, the vest's belt loops hold your belt, which in turn support your other heavy stuff.

If you're going to buy a non-MOLLE vest, be sure it has those belt loops. It's a great thing to have. Not an option IMO. I was actually going to buy a real CF issue CADPAT vest from the local surplus store until I realized they didn't have belt loops...

Yeah, that too. Just checked the real vest and it only has 4 single mag pouches. Has a lot of other pockets and stuff, but I'd see them of limited use. You could put mags in them, but they'd rattle around.

Not enough mag capacity for my liking. I want a minimum of 6 mags for my AEG. 12 is maybe overkill, but I'd rather have mag space I don't need than need mag space I don't have.

get a OD molle chest rig with lotsa magazines.
Cheap and efficient.plenty of room, you can totally stuff 12 mag pouches stacked plus a holster.
there are non-molle chestrigs also if you really want to be uncomfortable.
get the biggest dump pouch you can or a gasmask pouch.
you need kneepads also, buy them before you get hurt.

oh and btw I had the exact same vest on which I fixed a left-handed holster for cross-draw on top of one of the mag pouches.It was easy because it was a shoulder holster, bought in a surplus.
Anyway, it was still a mess so I switched for the molle and now I can concentrate on the killing.
tactical vests suck ass.
