CADPAT is what we use now, and i must say it works great, even as it fades it starts to work well for urban, as it turns into a sort of ACU pattern. MARPAT Is what the Americans came up with afterwords, we have never used MARPAT and i must say, after using CADPAT and working alongside with marines in MARPAT i can honestly say i don't want to use it.

If ya want to prevent fading while washing stuff like this wash it in cold water and turn it inside out before ya wash it, works really well from my experience.

MARPAT...

If i could bring myself to join the digital age... Marpat would be what I would go with..

I have had an opportunity to see quite a number of different camo in action running OPS at FTF..

Nothing worked as well and Marpat in mixed forest.

I have seen a section of men literally disappear within 15 feet of me... while I was watching them...

No other pattern... Cadpat included has been observed by me to work as well.

Multicam... is a really good low light general camo... it even works well indoors..but it is not as "multi" as you may think.

Russian Partizan... works quite well as well.

I'm a DPM man myself...

I personally like the cadpat. It works well for me, but not for all seasons such as fall when the leaves and grass lighten up. But I say it's still one of the best.

*twitch*

Personally I've been using DPM on and off for years and it's done the best job for me, AND it's cheap to get on hand.
Mind you I'm an ally kind of guy, I got tired of the HSLD look that everyone seems to be going for these days.

I like Tiger Stripe myself and use that all summer up here. When things get rocky and we head towards fall, I use Multicam. I like (for just our type of woods).

I like worn Cadpat too - works really well. I don't find ACU or new Cadpat or White T-shirts work as well.

Here's Tiger and Cadpat. (I know - poor example.)

LMFAO ok now THATS funny!

One time it seems there really is no "best" it seems tor really come down to what like, I use CADPAT myself cus it works, there is only so much you can do when it comes to basic camo IMO only thing you can really do to truly blend in 100% would be make a ghillie suit.

that or you can just get one of them tree costumes Graham Green wore on that kids show...

Hey i really like the multicam but i was wondering if any one know were to find this in Multicam

Best to get your gear in khaki since it goes great with multicam, also goes great with cadpat, marpat, etc. It tends to look like a medium dark tan colour, in some light is looks like a brownish olive brown colour, in other light it looks light tan colour. In other words, it tends to change colours slightly same as multicam does..

I learned something new today. Anyways just get multicam. It's the new "camo" that everyone uses now. It blends in all around the year. If multicam's not your cup of tea get cadpat.

We're in the Northwest Territories, so it's totally different up here. I find with the varying shadows/trees/bushes tiger stripe makes me invisible when not moving.

I do not think there is an answer to "what is the best camo" because it totally depends on the situation. And even then, several camos work well. While CADPAT might be the answer in one locale, change the sunlight and all of a sudden Multicam works better. I dunno...

I also like Tigerstripe because apart from being great, noone wears it but me, so it's easy for the new guys to know who I am. (he's the one guy wearing Tiger...). So style and psychology have input as well as concealment.

I agree...but...

Someone (RCMP ERT) told me "actually ghillie is a pain in the ass...we use it when hunkering down for long periods of time, but when we're bushwhacking it caughts caught all to hell...". I've found that as well. For hiding motionless - the entire game - ghillie is good, but I find even having ghillie on my head it gets caught when diving through cover.

So ghillie isn't the be all and end all of camo. It's like a big fishhook. It works well, but also catches stuff.
