give him a break just because he owns a airsoft gun at 14 does not mean that he is not responsible with it. Its better he owns an airsoft gun to get his amusement than a real gun.
I mean what would you rather hear about on the news some dum ass kid shots his eye out with a bb gun or some psychopath kills his class mates them him self with his dads hunting rifle.

yes you are correct i will give you that just simple annoyance that whole "just get ur folks to buy it off the internet dude im 14 and i got a aeg" you cant play legally why buy it? i got a airsoft gun yes as a birthday gift last year (cant even call it a airsoft gun crosman stinger p30:P) i didnt say hey mom can u use your credit card and id and buy this off the internet cuz im underage i didnt even ask for it they just thought id like it. Now like i said before its the same as drinking thiers rules and one of them is age part of the age rule has to do with being mature not everyones mature at 18 very few are mature at 18 but alot more 18 year olds are more mature then 14 and 13 year olds i used to be just like him to till i joined this site and realized its not that easy as click and play thiers laws to it

ANYBODY who even spends two seconds on this site will notice thier seems to be a strange thing called rules woah what are those man?

now i hate lil fucks like that who think cuz mommy will buy you a toy doesent mean you can use it

now about the school jokes those arent right i admit thier very wrong to make but well deserved in this case thier was a kid i think in ontario who got shot and killed because he took his airsoft gun to school in his backpack let that be a wakeup call to the other youngins dont do stupid stuff please

now i must take a breather from all this typing

any disagreements with my statement?

Viperfish September 23rd, 2007 17:45

i agree with you, just cus your rents buy you a gun, don't make it right.

ya wanna play with guns while your still young, eather go buy a cap or Nerf gun, or join the army. (thats something else you can do at 16 if your rents let you, and they use real ones)

Bowers September 23rd, 2007 17:50

another thing abour buyin your own stuff this isnt any like harvard study just what i noticed

alot of my frnds play guitar a few of them got thier folks to buy the guitar and amp and such fro xmas they touched maybe 4 times this past year where as the other guys i know he payed for eveything with thier pay actually dedicate themselves to it the reason i think is in your mind yout hinking i payed for this im gonna use it where as if you have not payed for it it collects dust in your closet so buy your own gun GUESS WHAT ya gotta be 18 to do that so i guess were back where we started aint we

and yes that two you wanna shoot guns and dress like a soldier at 16 apply for the army if you have enough intelligence and are fit enough you can get in and get payed to do it and you get payed to do it if you dont meet those requirements join cadets lol god i cant wait till i apply for reserves this summer:D

Viperfish September 23rd, 2007 17:58

as Long as you don't join simply to dick around, we had allot of ppl like that on my basic, they got flushed out fast, but ya go for it if you honestly want to do it.

Other wise do what the rest of us did and wait till your 18.

Or do what i did and join the army at 16 and play airsoft at 18 :)

Rules state that with parental supervision, someone under the age of 18 can use a gun (airsoft, soft-air, pellet gun, bb gun, etc.). Parents would be the only owner's of any guns being used, they would be stored away from easy access by the minor. As soon as the minor reaches legal age, those guns that the parents own, could technically be given to the child. Parents would be liable for anything the child does under supervision (or not under supervision) and would be charged accordingly.

However most fields have an 18+ rule, some have a 16+ with parental supervision rule.

As with drinking, children can be given alcohol at any age at the parent's discretion and under their supervision, airsoft guns can be used by minors at any age (off the fields that require a certain age to play) under strict supervision by parents. Of course at parent's discretion, maturity matters in this case, parents that deem their children to be responsible and mature enough to handle an airsoft gun under their supervision are leaving themselves out to dry if their decision is a bad one.

Obviously the problem with this is that it is usually ignored by any minors, and ignorant parents will go out and buy an airsoft gun for their child without checking the laws and regulations that apply to airguns. Kids will then play by themselves and get into trouble, get on the news, and continue to hurt this sport.

That is why it is not recommended that minors have access to these guns.

but im applying for air and either trying for firefighter (since im a vollie at this point and have experiance) or intelligence operator as my backup

kalnaren September 23rd, 2007 20:39

So, circumventing the adopted rules of the airsoft community in Canada shows that you're responsible? Uh hu....

Bowers September 23rd, 2007 20:41

thats good, far to many ppl join the reserves go through bmq and sq then say they don't like it and quit, in which case the unit looses out cus they just invested money into you. I'm actually the only one left from my bmq course who is still with my unit.

hmm i wouldn't know, your best bet is to talk to a recruiter, they will ave all the answers you want, but you should also consider looking into the co-op program it will get you your bmq and sq granted its allot more watered down and rushed but its an option for school, most cases though it shouldn't cut into school cus you do your training over the summer.

on my basic, i had 6 others from my unit, as you can picture my unit was not happy when they finished sq and just left.

yeah i imagine the school are gonna arrange a interview for me with a bunch of different job ideas i gave them (im part of this thing called occupational preparation its a mix of academic school with real world work experiance) by summer time ill have had a interview with a halifax fire chief a recruiter and a rcmp officer because the school "wants me to be sure of my options" its funny since im to young to be a firefighter for the city or a cop yet i can do it in reserves at 16 lol
