To succeed in what you want to do, there are steps you are skipping.

First and foremost, studying the subject. You said you knew nothing, so fix that before trying to fix other things or invent a new product. Inventors do their research. Ask MadMax how long it took him to research and build his propane adaptors, I'm sure he could give you an idea or two as to what's facing you.

Second; if you design a shell, study the engineering and specs along with the way those things really work. I dont think you have. Where do you store the gas? How do you refill them? What triggers them off?

Third; the shells must fit in an existing gun. Which one? If it does not, the shell is useless.

The ball is in your court. Dont get upset, just think about it some more.

By the way, this is would be an ACCESSORY. You may want to ask a moderator to move this thread to that section.

Gas in shells would be even more of a pain in the ass than gas in mags.

You'd have to eject....meaning finding shells that are reusable....meaning sucky....

History ssjows anything airsoft that holds gas tends to be pricey....I'm not paying $5 for an ejectable shell I will almost certainly lose and break. The size may make them prone to exploding too....

Just thoughts....

You know back up and just make a double barrel shotgun and the shells or one that could use these shells http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...mini%20moscart

I'd buy one for sure.

Just buy some Tanaka Gas Shotgun shells, crack one open and change a few things inside that you want to change. Then take the front off and make it shoot more ;D.

I hope your in the US, because a lot of what you suggest is illegal as hell here.

PS, the 6mm BB is larger than your .25 caliber.

MadMax September 13th, 2007 21:44

Is it illegal to hand load nails or rocksalt into shells? Maybe stupid, but I'm not sure it's illegal.

I have doubts though. 550fps on 20x pellets with only a primer pan? They're not very powerful. 6mm pellets in an inefficient phat loose bore pipe coming out with a total muzzle energy of 54J on just a primer pan?

Maybe only the lead was dumped with the wadding and powder charge still left in. I don't want to think about clearing the fouling caused by a handful of ABS pellets propelled by a shotgun powder load.

Depends on the primer, some are enough by themselves to launch a .22 with enough power to pierce a fair thickness of wood.
