There is an army surplus in Oshawa that had real army ration packs. Each pack had one days food for one man. I have bought a cpl and the food is good. there is breakfast lunch and supper in the pack even comes with a spoon, paper towel. They are small enough that a cpl could be carried in a small pack or mussette bag, or breadbag(german)

I'm not sure where Oshawa is but, there is a surplus store near me they sell a different brand of ration packs. "Mountain house®" The one I'm looking at is a wee bit expensive then I'd like.. I'm thinking I could order some IMP's off of Army issue... I've been told they don't, well go through so well? High intake low out put? >.>

Psh... At my only night game I needed none of this! I slept for 2 hours in my regular camo uni in a dried up creekbed we used like a trench. I had rocks for pillows. Ha! That was a fun night. Really that was like the best place I've ever slept. Get yourself a tent and a nice sleeping bag if you want, but if it's an all night game I'm assuming that all night you're open to attack? I'd rather be sleeping in a ditch holding my rifle ready for attack than tied up in a sleeping bag in my hot pink polka-dot boxers in a tent in the dark if you get what I'm getting at. You would be screwed if anyone attacked you. Even if you had someone on watch, I'd say you'd be trapped in that tent being shot at. And your tent would end up with a bunch of holes. But, maybe its just me. For some odd reason I absolutely love the concept of sleeping in a cold muddy ditch with the sounds of people and gearboxes alike screaming all around me. No idea why, but that's always sounded awesome to me. Sorry for the uber-long post...

I didn't need to know you sleep in hot pink polka-dot boxers! >.< Okay so I'll consider the tent issue what not... but what about food? :(

Unless you plan on setting up a really well hidden hide, you might as well forget about rats for what is basically going to be a 9 hour op.

You mentioned you were 8 "every man for himself". You aren't going to see much action if you all hunker down at 0130 for food then crash :D

Be a fast mover, carry everything you need on your rig or in a small (NOT a three day pack here, I mean SMALL) pack.

9 hours in Milsim isn't backpack territory in my opinion, but to each his own. It's all about having fun and using that kit you spent all your cash on. :D

I don't put a pack on till they get to the 24 hour mark, 48 for sure. I stuff my pockets with everything I don't have on my plate carrier, which is basically energy food and Gookinade powder, then snivel kit like TP or a mickey of rye* ;)

NOTE - No rye in the feild during winter games. asking for trouble there.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.........hahaha

No overnight adventure in the forest is complete with out a fleshlight.

Forever_kaos August 23rd, 2007 16:55

hahaha! basicly we're starting at 10:00 AM.. ending at 11:30 PM the next day. and so far what I understand is at 1:00 AM, there is a cease fire unless you are at your base and you see somebody close by, then at 8:00 AM cease fire is off. so maybe a tent is not such a good idea, I'm guessing basicly then load up on protein bars, granola bars, un cool no salt trail mix :).. cool..
anybody got a flesh light I can borrow? O.O
You've all been a great help thanks so much.. if anything goes wrong I'm blaming all of you though :D
