Finding C7 / C8 receivers is a real pain in the ass. and converting the M249 into a C9 can reign havok on your back account as well. The kit is easy compared to all this.

So you are 16 years old and you are trying to find a shop that will sell you a TM M4A1? I am PRETTY sure you will NOT find a store that will sell airsofts to minors...

It can be done, although it involves parental involvement beyond just using their credit card. Find a game and attend with your parents, inform the organiser in advance, and you'll get the low down. Look around for more information on these forums.

www.airsoftparts.ca

You'll have to pre-order (none currently in stock) but he's fast.

If hadn't of needed to sell my M4, I would have been buying one of those.

he was right. Regular forces is 17 with parental permission, 18 or older without.

Reserves : 16 with parental permission, 17 or older without.

This has to be the worst bit of mis-information floating around. We do not use the thermold magazines.

Originally intended as a "battlefield fire-and-forget" or "disposable" magazine, they were initially used as a reloadable magazine and promptly failed to live up to the task. We use regular STANAG M16 metal magazines.

You still may find a few thermolds in the bottom of a storage locker in some unit's QM, but they are not a common sight anymore.

I found one in a box of old hard drives last week. They truly sucked as a magazine. The lips broke off the tops of the mags in pretty much any temperature below freezing, causing all the rounds to try to fit into the breech at once.
Even when we were using them, we'd pick up metal mags whenever we were at US bases since they just leave them lying on the ranges after a day of shooting. You'll do fine with a Canadian loadout using pretty much any regular mags out there. Even the Star locaps look fine after you paint them.

Bowers July 29th, 2007 23:52

thanks for that so just any regular m16 magazine will work ok umm does anyone no some of the weapons used by jtf-2 because my team is supposed to be a cross between regular infantry and special ops
