Ahem, "brandish" is the word. Banishing means the same as banning. Lol, sorry, couldn't resist.

Hey, topic at hand, ok, the 16 year old aspect, there are a few vet players who were smart about their start in airsoft at a young age and have become respected players, just they are few and far between. Greylocks is quite familiar with one young player in particular, Deftonius, and Grey was pretty much a mentor of Deffy in the early days. Just pointing out that Greylocks isn't even close to being as much of asn asshole as some people feel he is. And this coming from someone who got a LOT of advice early on from Grey without bs. Mind you, I started airsoft at the age of 31, so I didn't have to deal with the age card, just the maturity one. I think I passed.

The point is that nobody should have been able to sell you this gun legally. That's why I'd like to know who does not care about the various laws. You may not be the problem, but a person who sells to underage people IS a problem.

18+ for airsoft is only a law in Ontario, Greylocks. In fact it's not even a law in Ontario, as the law applies to immitation firearms, which airsoft technically doesn't even qualify as.

You HAVE had this pointed out to you before. Therefore, this person's owning of an AEG is not illegal. STOP passing off what you'd like the law to be as what the law is.

So ASCA and other retailers who only sell to 18+ is discriminating against minors? Or are you just referring to owning and not buying?

They have the right to sell to who they wish, and ASC has the right to decide who has access to what sections of the forums.

The community and most of the more public retailers agree that airsoft needs to be handled responsibly. The decision to restrict to 18+ is not required by law, just a wise decision. It's all covered in the FAQs if you're interested further...I'm not claiming to be an expert on the legal details, I just read the info that's available here.
