Sorry fo the dead-thread revival, but I'm now in the same boat. I have the Phantom CIRAS and a Camelbak Ambush. The Ambush is the step up from the standard 3L, but has only 4 D-rings.
It would seem to me that with caribiners the Camelbak might swish around a bit on the back of the Phantom and make a racket. Is it secure Lerch?
I thought maybe finding a strap of webbing with fastex buckles at either end a thingy to take up the slack in the middle to run through the D-rings, and weave through the MOLLE. Would work for the bottom anyways... maybe a similar, smaller web-loop through each shoulder pad for the top two D-rings? hmm...
Thanks in advance for thoughts and experience.
EDIT: haha... just noticed the d-rings advice thread. Zap straps eh? I was hoping for something more reusable but it sounds like a good quick fix.
