I have a G&G SCAR and it runs great. Totally stock out of the box, it's my go to gun.

well i really appreciate all the feedback on the vs between the two but i think im leaning a little bit more towards the VFC seeing as 1. mag compatibility if i run out there are probably about 30 other guys who can throw me a spare 2. affordability i mean where i can get it its only 475 which i this is a sold price , i can get the tm shipped here no problem but after custom taxes and all the fun brokers i'd be losing in my mind and 3. V 2 gear box is a very good start to a table of upgrades

as i said, TMs are the best guns out of the box if you don't touch the internals at all. But having said that, you are limited to indoors with the 280 FPS it comes standard. Upgrading it will cause problems just like any gun out there. its not like you can throw in a spring to shoot 380 and its gona be all fine. it may be able to take the beating i don't know but still......

plus vonduik's TMs are the old TMs not the recoil shock stuff completely different systems

I can name more than one player that have sub 300 fps guns that will hand you your ass outdoors while shooting .2g. High FPS does not equal performance and will NEVER replace skill.

How many tm guns have you upgraded? I have upgraded more than 100 of them over the past 10 years and can tell you that you can drop a systema m120 stainless spring in a tm gun without any problems if you replace the nylon bushings with metal ones and shim the thing correctly. Yes the gen 2 box is fragile(no winter play, and minimal dry fireing. It will break but replacement options are plentyfull) but the gen 3 will run this setup for millions of bbs..(have 3 guns that can attest to that, stock everything but metal bushing and upgraded spring).

Granted I have yet to deal with the new gens of tm guns but from experience very rarely does TM put out a system that sucks.....

The problem you have deals with the fact that you have a -H not a -L. Never expect to game well with something with proprietary parts.

Agreed and lesson learned....again

400 fps does NOT equal range and accuracy... it equals primarly force of impact, punch thruw power and travel speed PERIOD. At the moment I've been getting excellent results with a 340 fps spring with metal bushings and a tanio koba twist bore barrel over any other setup I've tried over the years ( from high fps ftk kits to basic spring bushing upgrades with regular tight bore barrels)

Upgrade the player before upgrading the gun...

Did you say a twist bore barrel? Where did that come from? Details please.

vondnik i'm not an idiot and your just being condescending explaining the obvious. You've twisted my words and managed to dumb it down enough to convince yourself you can talk as if I don't know anything.
This is a thread about what gun he should purchase not about insulting me.

@OP
Good choice, my only recommendation is wait for something to fail before upgrading as it seems like the VFC(like most of their products) come strong out of the box :)

My H SSR has thousands put through it and still works flawless. It is my favorite DMR.

sushicake February 18th, 2013 19:36

I'd go with a vfc or even a g&g all are v2 gear boxes and are very easy to work on and are a lot cheaper than getting a tm one which is proprietary everything.

SuperHog February 18th, 2013 19:46

Although G&G have the trades, VFC has better exteriors.
