wait till I put mine up for sale. TM Hi-CApa comes with an Infinity Metal Slide. Never had problems with the o-ring, just don't lube it too much.

i have the same problems that droc has. after putting the upgraded capa through 150 rounds the slide got messed up.

1.doesn't want to fire anymore
2.fires when the grip saftey is not engaged LoL

i have nice metal stuff coming in for it, so hopefully this will fix the problem

i'll keep everyone posted.

Droc June 28th, 2005 08:26

take off the slide
see the loading nozzel
slide it forward all the way
at the very rear end of the slide you will see the Oring, it doesnt belong there
use something very small to slide it as far forward as you can untill it sits into the larger grove right before the loading nozzel.
worked for me

tried out your fix. It worked out fine for 1 mag and the o-ring blew off again. i think i will order the tanio koba piston cup and spring set. Don't want to have this problem on the field

droc: thanks for your help dude =P

Blah, my hi-capa finally fucked-off. lol
The O-ring keeps popping out, which will be fixed soon with the tonia koba replacement parts. The slide has been wore to shits, because of casting problems on the mid reciever, which will be fixed by a lil elbow grease.

when everything is fixed, i'll repost again. Just waiting on all the parts right now.

tax out

buy or not

Hey amigo's

i was going to buy a TM hi CAPA 5.1 but the only thing holding me back is the fact that it is not all metal. Is this a hinderance? Should is still buy it or go with a western arms or something like that? If i do buy it is there somewhere where i can get the metal upgrades, and if so which should i get?

another question concerning this gun. i was going to buy a shoulder holster but double edge only lists two kinds: long or short and it doesnt even list what size guns fit either., does anyone know which holster best fits the tm hi capa?

cheers boyos

Droc July 11th, 2005 08:26

Ok, The TM Hi-Capa is a solid gun. Loaded, it weighs more then most WA full metal guns.

But another company makes a full metal, propane ready Hi-capa thats worth checking into.

Holsters, chest holsters or leg holsters are your best bet. A shoulder holster gets in the way. Safarieland makes good ones I hear

I have a Safariland 6004 holster for 1911s and after I installed a PGC metal slide its super tight in it I need 2 hands to remove it.

Is your holster for 1911 or STI Hi cap? If it is for 1911, due to the wider frame, it will be super tight. The proper 6004 should be STI hi cap model.

I've tested the WE Tech full metal one. It's solid and heavy, but accuracy and power cannot match the TM 5.1, which it based on. It seems most power is used for the blow back action (the slide is heavier than my MK 23 Metal Slide)
This gun is Propane ready, and I've seem CO2 conversion mag (extended mag) on sale already. If you want kick ass performance, look for the CO2 mag.
Also if you want to attach a light or laser unit, you have to manage to mod the lower frame.

I myself was also looking at getting the KJW FMU Para or the TM Hi-Capa. I was wondering if anyone knows the field preformace difference between these two GBB's on the field?

Droc July 12th, 2005 08:09

I know the TM hi-capa is basically a stock AEG. Range wise and accuracy wise, its just as good as your average stock M4 or such.

tax July 12th, 2005 13:39

Agreed with Droc.
The TM hi-capa is a very impressive stock GBB, range and accuracy!

The TM Hicapa SPANKS the KJW FMU Para in the accuracy dept. MY KJW Para, the bbs drop down after 25 ft. and since the hopup is FIXED!!! there's nothing I can do about it except use lighter bbs.

ILLusion July 12th, 2005 14:15

I've run a lot of velocity consistency tests on both stock and upgraded AEGs and GBBs... the TM Hi-Capa SPANKS all! It's even more consistent (read: accurate) than stock and most upgraded AEGs!!! Even an upgraded Hi-Capa still has greater velocity consistency than stock AEGs and it's gas powered!

If I can get a longer barrel into my Hi-Capas, for sure I would use those as my primaries...

Hmm, might be lookin into that gun too. Just a few questions though, does that small Rail come with the gun?
