I acually want to do a USMC marine load out. Though, M1A1 parts, magazines and support are easily avaliable.. I will get a Sten eventually. I can always say I picked it up from the field :) though, back then, I would proberly get told to get rid of it.

Aside of that, low cap magazines for the Sten is impossible to get.. except the KA magazines which they are mid-caps, though not quite sure if its possible to mod them to low caps.

You can always just short-load them ;)

AGM Mp40 low cap supply is reappearing. Airsoft GI just got them back in stock and (EDIT) ehobby has them back in stock now for $9 per mag.

Also, nice work on the Thompson Adam.

I just got this the other day... it's the King Arms All Metal and wood M1A1 Thompson. And yes it's as nice as it looks. It's by far the best looking Thompson I have owned. If it shoots as good as it feels and looks then I will be a very happy man!

Quality Thompson M1A1

Nice pictures of the Thompsons!

Having said that, looks aside, which brand of Thompson do you think is the best quality made one? I'm looking for a good shooting M1A1 that isn't prone to failure.

Boyso December 30th, 2011 15:13

Well since they are all based on the Tokyo Marui, I'd say quality wise for the internals goes like this TM > KA > Cyma

For Externals, KA > TM/Cyma

TMs are known to have barrel breakages.

Cymas are workhorses and IMO, the best bang for the buck.

Get yourself a KA, you wont regret it. The KA Thompson is good inside and outside and fully compatible with the metal lower kit and the wood kit. No fitting with a dremel. If your patient you can find it as low as 275$ At that price it's one of the best aeg for the price.

Since it's a thompson thread...here are two.
We are both planning on getting the wood kits, when they ever become available again LoL

We have photos of at least 2, possibly 82ndAbn paras boarding Dakotas on D-day -1, with Luger pistol holsters . Weather they actually had a Luger or a .45 in it is up for a debate. How they acuired them? 82 Abn, that already fought in Sicily, would have had the chance to collect war booty. Since we portray troops already on the ground D-day +2,...he collected it off an eliminated German :)
.30 cal is a static display piece.

dayammie February 24th, 2012 20:56

war booty of course. We also have a german re-enactor with a 45 and US holster.
