U talking about the WE SCAR? Also, WE mags of all types are absolute shit. I don't want to hear about them leaking because they can't be stored with gas for shipping purposes BS. No other company I've used have leaky mags out of the box. When I buy a new mag I expect it to not leak at the very least.

Recomending a Daytona gun? Hmm. You forgot to mention how long he's going to wait for parts when they do break, and they will break-maybe not as often as other gbbrs but it is going to happen, and you'll be waiting a long time for replacements.

Let see what parts do break...
The hose...6mm Hose, Fastenal sells good ones
Bolt Carrier screws... M5 screw, Fastenal sells it
Seriously, Fastenal sells alot of replacement, that might break.
Not really an excuse.

Besides they have a 2-3 warranty( dont remember which ) and sell replacemnt parts if something breaks and you email them.

CNC'd steel that's nickel plated will hold along time.

Still have the remains? I could use some spare parts.lol.

I didn't mean to bash Daytona so mush as I'm going on what a few people I know who own them have told me. I was under the understanding that is takes forever to get parts as they are a small company and are alway back ordered, correct me if I'm wrong.

The hinge plate issue can be fixed easily by adding a slender peice of cushioning in between the carrier rod and butt plate, there is apprx 1/4 inch clearance there to play with. I use a random peice of high density foam.

My only issue is it freezing up.

Other than that, it IS accurate, just not reliable.

IRONSIGHT February 25th, 2011 21:11

I'm not sure how well the cushion will work with the open bolt sytem, as it kicks alot harder. I've never had an accuracy problem with my SCAR although I did have one with my M4 (gen2) wich was temporarily fixed by completely removing the hop-up tab. I eventually got a newer style inner barrel & hop up rubber and then it was fine.

The cnc'd aluminum frame broke? that's unheard of.

I kinda find that hard to picture. Got any pics?

His hinge plate broke, as I recall... and at one game, I was using his lower assembly for the trigger mechanics, and within 15 shots, my hinge plate broke too.

However, MY lower assembly has one of the fixes suggested in the WETTI thread... a chunk of PVC cut to fit into the back of the lower and bear MOST of the impact from the bolt. (I bought it that way, I didn't install it)

The bolt catch still works, and i've NEVER had a hinge plate break when i was using this mod... the bolt doesn't hit the t-bar thing, so doesn't exert the force on the hingeplate. This puts the force on both the part 27 and hingeplate because of the rear connection, AND the front disassembly pin and the METAL hole that it goes through, connected to the frame.

The only real issue I've had with my scar is the one it came with, a trigger assembly that couldn't fire semi because of a worn trigger. The PDW and M4 both have the option of hardened triggers to go along with hardened hammers, firing pins, sears, etc... but nobody manufactures a hardened trigger for the scar, which is the only different piece between the two trigger assemblies.

It's handled both CO2 mags AND propane, without any other issues... though I haven't used the open bolt kit. The brass tube is visible, sure, but only from the side you're not on.
