Once you compare the G&G internals to Siegetek or prometheus then you will know that G&G is pretty bad. It's meh quality. overpriced IMO.

I suggest you game your gun far more before you replace all your wiring. The performance gain is going to be barely noticeable to the effort you put in. Unless youare trying to make your life easier with swapping batteries across guns are getting loaner batts than wait.

Deans connectors bleh. TRAXXAS or Banana. THAT's where the hardcore people go.

Banana connectors are garbage. They're for live speakers and have been replaced with speakon connectors.. If anything banana connectors are dangerous..

No less dangerous than connecting one of these to your guns. Unlike ACM batteries quality RC lipo brands deliver very close to what they advertise.

Banana are commonly used in Asia as the upgrade connector over Deans (particularly in PRC and Phillipines) because of the price and the performance difference.

yeah but Banana connectors are outdated and are mostly used for large stadium speakers.. I don't know i think it's a bad idea, talked about it with some co-workers and they sort of laughed... The Deans connectors and TRAXXAS are the same thing basically.. I could argue about it all day.. All in preference. The G&G box is decent it's all metal gears and bearings.. I will upgrade things though.. I have played it enough to know what i want to change in it.. Thanx for all the input though..

Azathoth knows what he's talking about lol

Deans connectors meet all the requirements I've ever had for powering a gun :)

traxxas are still a bit big but they are good. I'm happy with deans to not switch. in airsoft deans is more common than traxxas so it helps for loaner batteries.

Speakon

Banana is just an Unbalanced connector like an RCA

primarily audio.

you know you can get smaller better quality ones. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12993

and your banana plugs haven't been used in pro audio for a long time. more so on the consumer level though for easy speaker connections without the bare wires. though speakon is good, 1/4" and XLR's are still more common and more than sufficient to not require new batch of cables with the new connector. 1/4" and XLR's have a wider range of use while speakon is dedicated use. I ran a pro audio gig for years and only used speakon's for one set of monitor speakers that also had dual use 1/4" and speakon jacks.

Yeah cause XLR and TRS are balanced.. Less RF. Anyways i'm gonna go with deans.. I have a huge hate on for the banana eh? LOL. We'll see what happens once everything is all said and done..

I just had Amos replace the connectors in one of my guns with Deans (he does excellent work). That's the first upgrade folks around here make to any new AEG. It makes you wonder why Deans connectors don't come as standard equipment...

Skorpion August 12th, 2010 09:26

I have been using Deans for almost a year now, good connectors, now im waiting some XT60 connectors, a bit better performers, but users say they are more comfortable to solder, plug and unplug.

Lets see if they convince me :)

Kid August 12th, 2010 09:31

I've got deans in my guns... but I prefer them just to save space and to make sure all my guns use the same connectors. I don't go out of my way to install them.

I honestly don't see why they're necessary though. I can't imagine it saves all that much power and even with a 11.1v lipo in my gun, I find them unnecessary.

I could understand if you're using a heavy support gun or have an incredibly heavy trigger finger, but for most people, I think they're unnecessary.

edit: One thing I don't like about deans connectors are that they can be difficult to unplug at times - an issue that I seldom have with standard connectors.
