Of course. You can get parts (whatever you can import yourself) much cheaper than A&A. Now that I know what I can and can't import for myself, I'll shop overseas myself. Or if I need parts in a hurry, airsoftparts.ca is there and Jugglez has great prices.

But I don't see myself buying guns from A&A or 007 anymore. With the classifieds here, I can find anything I want. And I also have my eye on one of those metal JG MP5s at shootsoft.ca. If it wasn't for my recent accquisition of the RS T56, the TM P226, and JG HK16, I'd probably already have it.

:)

really it's takin over two fuckin weeks to even process my fuckin order and i haven't got it to date!

temple47 January 18th, 2008 23:32

my buddy ordered from shootsoft and so far so good. As for the two weeks, did you pay via paypal like bank account? Because for my buddy he ahs to wait 5-8 business days for the payment to clear. Once it does then they have received the payment and can send it.

artikmonkey January 18th, 2008 23:36

ya i payed paypal its been 7 day i guess, but it kinda wierd because when i used to order from buy airsoft it would take 2 days for the payments to arrive. im just a bit frusterated.

What did you order? My buddy ordered a stock hk416 which wasnt on the site so he's waiting, but so far trusts them. And dont forget theyve got that 10 day guarantee. If after 10 days of full clearance payment they dont give you item they give you money back.

What kind of guarantee is that? Paypal allows you to reverse a payment for 45 days after a transaction (I think, forgot exact number of days) if you did not receive the item.

SHaKaL January 22nd, 2008 19:10

Yes I ordered one. I'll let you know about the FPS when I get it this week.

As to the somewhat negative comment based on "personal experience" I can replace any parts that break in a heartbeat so I am not concerned about the mech box at all.

What I am getting is an all metal AEG for $300.00. plus shipping. I consider this worth the risk.

LeGROS January 22nd, 2008 20:18

There will be 2 mp5 navy all steel on the game tomorow night at Action Commando!!

LeGROS January 22nd, 2008 21:10

Bonjour Alec (artikmonkey),

Here you’re tracking number 7210029670784083
We place your order public, so there will be no mistake on the total of days there is before shipping, like we can read on your thread! ;)

I'm sure you will understand! We don't want a bad start with any one!!

And again if there has anything that we can help you with, let us know. Thank you very much and look forward to your reply.

I just stated the fact that you will probably have to replace the mechbox shell or some other internals in a couple of games (like the mechbox shell of my bro mp5 that broke in half after 2 games).

The mp5 is not full metal by the way... most of the front is made of plastic (cocking tube, outerbarrel, flash hidder etc...) but the lower receiver, grip etc... are full metal (more like really fragile pot metal).

Have fun disassembling the gun ;)

I always have fun taking my guns apart. I find the experience very enjoyable. Besides for me at least, half the fun of owning airsoft weapons is knowing that they when they break, (it's always only a matter of time) that I can fix them good as new or better. :D

I do enjoy taking airsofts apart and upgrading them; let just say that this one is a little more complicated than a tm, ics, ca etc...

You will see what i mean when time come ;)

Shrapnel[Op-For] January 25th, 2008 00:00

been thinking about possibly getting the JG bar 10. I've heard good things from people about it, but the FPS seems a little low. I know that they have a l96, but i don't know if higher fps is worth it for less accuracy.

gvanzeggelaar January 25th, 2008 00:12

no go with the jing gong. Its a great base gun for upgrades and from what i have heard it is good gun for a clone.

Any stock BAR has "low" FPS for a sniper rifle. Just like any other one you'll have to put some work into the JG to make it a good gun.

Shrapnel[Op-For] January 25th, 2008 16:35

but usable for a few games without getting out ranged by aegs? I want to try it out at some games, then i'd look into upgrades.

trufret January 25th, 2008 17:10

If you're really sneaky you can still get allot of kills with it. you just have to be very disciplined in your movement and when you take shots because if you get spotted by a guy with an AEG 9 out of 10 times they will get you. It's true with high power snipers too but you can shoot from farther away so concealment isn't so hard

I have an jg mp5 navy and I can say that the body isn't cheap at all. Solid metal no doubt about it. Not a lot of plastic parts, the gun is WAY more solid than my Tm M4a1. Believe me JG did their homeworks with the time and now they are producting really good products. Everyone that was at action commando this week to try them were not disapointed, a lot were really impressed.

SHaKaL January 25th, 2008 18:14

Yeah... i was impressed untill i had to disasemble one...having to dismantle the whole gun to get to the mechbox is no fun... Tab for the cocking handle broken inside, mechbox broken in half after 2 games... yeah really impressive

For the price my bro paid its a good entry aeg but its worth what you pay for; no more.
Myself i like to pay more for something more reliable (i'm the one repairing and upgrading the gun in the house).

Anyway your preaching for your parish... you sell them ;)

Ronan January 25th, 2008 18:19

400fps is to much for that crappy mechbox. Downgrading the spring is a good idea (and metal bushings).

The one i got here is getting a TM mechbox, metal bushing and a systema M100 spring. Systema grease/lub and its good to go.

I think of Jing Gons as mini project guns. Deff worth it once the little bugs have been worked out.

Its true having to take the gun completly apart... sucks! But hey blame TM :p

Shrapnel[Op-For] January 25th, 2008 18:37

Ill be getting a kjw works p226 real soon so I think ill go for the bar 10, and upgrade after a few tries.

Depends on the AEGs. Look at it this way: are you going to be able to hit someone with one single shot, the very first shot? Even if the other dude only has a moderatly upgraded AEG.. they'll be shooting 10-15 rounds at you for every one you shoot at them. And if someone has an AEG shooting 410-420 FPS, they'll range you. Even if some fall short, a couple are likely to range. Being a good sniper is about knowing how to play in that role, not so much about having an advantage with the gun.

ww2warrior January 25th, 2008 23:28

Wow Shakal that sucks... Just by curiosity, is it a Jing gong Version 1 aeg? I heard that they fixed that problem in the newest production of the JGs...Did you fix it or you completly changed it? Thanks for the info

SHaKaL January 25th, 2008 23:47

TM mechbox on the way with metal bushing. Changing the spring also.
As for the version of the mp5... cant tell. Anyway it dont suck for me ;) im not the owner just the gun tech repairing it.

Thats not that bad. When I had my G&P ordered from Calgary, even though I had it air shipped it was about 80. I remember my G36 from Buyairsoft was like 30 or so. Shipping isn't cheap and its usually the one thing forgotten when someone calculates how much they have to pay.

Jg's Mp5 A4/A5 have a plastic body and a V2 metal gearbox

The V2 metal gearbox should be present in every recent product from JG.

Yeah, that was a turnoff for me too, considering the item I was ordering. I know that actual shipping cost (Xpresspost) MP5 I was looking at should be $20-25 at most. I had my full size CA M15A4 rifle shipped to me from A&A for $30. When I returned the broken Firepower F4 I got from A&A, shipping was $25. To me, having cheap prices for products, then charging high shipping price sort of adds a 'hidden' cost that makes what appeared to be a great deal not so great anymore. Don't get me wrong though. Shootsoft's prices on the guns are still quite reasonable, and even with that extra shipping charge, the total cost is still competitive. But the shock factor of seeing that huge shipping charge is a bit sobering when you're not expecting it.

That being said, I will probably end up buying the JG metal MP5 from shootsoft eventually. I think it was just the shock factor that really made me back out of it on the spot like that. Otherwise, I would have placed my order that day.

Affliction January 26th, 2008 16:52

Holy shit, massive price-jack on the shipping.

Ordered a L96 a week or two ago (haven't received it yet) and Xpress-post shipping (tracking included) was $10.24 (Obviously it would cost more than this, but I'm not complaining). $40 is definitely unreasonable from QUEBEC to ONTARIO.

I believe the $40 is now a flat fee, which does not change from Quebec to BC. Shipping fees need some revision.
-Fury

Relja January 26th, 2008 17:14

for me shipping the 416 from shootsoft to me was like 10 bucks. I thought that was very very good.

Relja January 26th, 2008 17:25

shipping is ridiculously expensive especially for airsoft guns. I remember shipping one of my guns xpresspost and it cost me 40 dollars. I believe 007 and A&A shipping is like 60 tho. I guess i got lucky, i ended up getting it when it was $10 shipping and i got my gun :D.

dinhulks January 26th, 2008 17:58

Shootsoft Shipping!!!

Yeah,

I bought 2 airguns from Airsoft. Nov 2007 and Jan 2008. Shipping was the same at $25. and that's BC to ON.
I hope shootsoft adjusts the shipping and i'm good to go!

No, shipping costs money, it isn't cheap, and I do take it into consideration for the total price. I figured Usually, it will cost $30 to ship an average full size AEG across the country, and about 20 within Ontario. I'm just not willing to pay $40 to have a smaller item shipped to me from less than 500 km away.

Agreed. From Quebec to Ontario, that's way too much. From BC to Ontario, I'd be a little miffed since it would be a bit high (considering the size and weight of the item being shipped), but would be reluctantly willing to pay it.

And yeah, shipping costs need to be more locale-specific rather than flat rate. Other online stores using OSCommerce (airsoftparts.ca, old A&A site, buyairsoft.ca) have the module that will gets actual shipping costs from Canada Post. LeGros should definitely look into that for his online store.

The second shipping prices are adjusted, I'll be ordering my MP5.

</homer simpson>

Sorry. Just had to post that in there. That comment reminded me so much of Homer when he wanted his gun but there was a waiting period. lol

I believe as of a couple of weeks ago (about the time you would have ordered), he had listed somewhere that due to a flood of orders and low stock, orders would be shipped within 10 days of ordering (or something to that effect). Just PM LeGros and he'll get it squared away.

Styrak January 26th, 2008 22:02

It's 20 business days now, FYI.

Hmmm... I don't like the sound of that 20 day thing. I'm going to wait till shootsoft hits a 'steady state' and back on track with the 'under 5 days' thing before ordering.

Keep in mind, he's not even "open" yet.

Give the guy a fricking break guys.

Ronan January 26th, 2008 23:30

Can't wait go to 007 or aasurplus. It's that easy.

Crunchmeister January 26th, 2008 23:52

As I said, I'll wait till he's at a 'steady state' (officially open) before overburdening him. Sounds like he's already got his hands full with trying to get the store open and all the orders he's getting.

40$ flat rate??? you just lost my business.

LeGROS January 27th, 2008 02:19

SHaKaL January 27th, 2008 02:22

Dont take 7 day from montreal to Trois-rivieres or Quebec... more like 2... I receive/mail things xpress to montreal more than 10 times since 2006

LeGROS January 27th, 2008 02:36

We have made in 10 days what we expect for 3 months!! For this reason we are now set to 20 business days for shipping.

There are other retailers like A&A and 007 who are doing great job!! We are not here to replace them!! For now many person have received there AEG, some make a review of are quality service!

I'm asking today... Please just be patient!

If you have any question... I will answer!! I receive +/- 50 emails by days! And +/-10 PM here!

Guys be a little bit patient...You don't know how many orders we received during the last 2 weeks. We are doing our best and believe me ,it's really hard to please everybody in that buisness. Like legros said, we are not there to replace 007 or AA, we are just an alternative.

mack_silent January 27th, 2008 12:16

Your saving 100$ on the g36c compared to anderson... so really waiting 15 days for shipping, and paying 40 for shipping wouldnt be a problem with me.

WEL SAID!!! HERE HERE!!! :D

Crunchmeister January 27th, 2008 13:14

I'm curious as to how you got a shipping charge of $90+ from A&A. I went through their checkout process, got a list list of shipping charges and options - consistent with the shipping charges I had laid out above.

For $50.51, I can have a gun shipped from A&A via Purolator Priority post and have it in 4 days. Under $30 gets Xpresspost. And that's across the country.

dinhulks January 27th, 2008 15:39

Wait! $40.00 is not really cad$40.00----its US$40.00...
