Ok Saint, NOW you've gone & done it! Now Deeds is gonna have nightmares for another week.

Nightmare's not so bad, he can choose not to sleep for a week, at the end of which he won't remember this conversation. Or anything at all, for that matter.

What he cannot not do is to avoid toilet paper for a week. Everytime he finishes his business on the crapper, he's going to reach over for some TP and have a traumatic airsoft flashback.

This is true. Never even thought of making grenades out of toilet paper rolls with the toilet paper still on. Hmmm, might be a cool effect.

Carvs March 20th, 2006 15:33

I have to try it some time. It IS mainly for display but im sure I can rig something up. I do have to admit, its pretty cool. I may have to rig up a cholrine and alcohol mix and throw in some bbs and boom! I dont know, if anything itll be a one time use thing going on. But, if you guys want, ill rig something up. Ha, this may become interesting...

GraveTech March 20th, 2006 15:57

I don't think people would like white spots on their uniform because they got drenched by a chlorine grenade...

bean March 20th, 2006 15:59

I know lets put windex and bleach in a grenade. Then when we toss it at someone we can laugh as they slowly choke to death on chlorine gas. :smack:

Carvs March 20th, 2006 16:32

Its not a 2L bottle of chlorine. I dont think that they would get drenched in chlorine. But, if I do end up making a couple, ill be sure to test it on if it will stain. You know what, I'll rig one up for you guys before the night is over, possibly throw it in my backyard... Wait, not such a good idea :S...

ROTFLMFAO!!!

GraveTech March 20th, 2006 16:42

Even a spot of chlorine will leave a stain. If it is mixed with something else, I am not to sure what would happen then. Still, I am sure there are enough people who would rather not get it on them at all (let alone anywhere near the face/eye area).

Carvs March 20th, 2006 17:11

True enough. I'll think of another way to do it. But, I'll still try it.

FieroGT March 20th, 2006 19:47

We use tennis balls and bunker grenades locally. Which gives them a pre-determined area they cover, and you cant really argue with that. However its a much smaller group here.

I hope to never play with anyone using bleach, chemicals, paint, or explosives for improvised grenades in airsoft. :|

jackel March 21st, 2006 13:05

OK I am really impressed with my grenade. My girlfriend was in the washroom and I decided it would be a good time to test this sucker out! I opened the door yelled "FRAG OUT" and tossed the grenade in. I was rewarded with a large bang and the tinkly sound of hundreds of bbs bouncing off the walls. But what really impressed me about the grenade is it scared my girlfriend so much she started to cry! So it has passed the scare the sh!t out of the girlfriend test and is ready for the game test! :-D

GraveTech March 21st, 2006 13:11

OMG you didn't actually do that...did you?

How big is the bathroom?

Yet you throw one at your unsuspecting girlfriend in a confined space. Good call.

gandar March 21st, 2006 13:14

lmao Nice. But yeah, just be glad it didn't hit her in the eye, though I suspect the human reaction of covering your head might have kept her safe.... Good to know they work well though.

Kid March 21st, 2006 13:15

Please tell us you have some pictures of this piece. And a video of the action would be cool too, though, don't put your girlfriend through that again - you may not have the means then to reproduce.

But really... :smack:

jackel March 21st, 2006 14:17

I really want to get video but I don't have know how or equipment. I have a crappy web cam so I will try to get some amature video going. It will probably look like the video of bigfoot walking through the woods though :-D
O and don't worry about my GF she is well trained, she knew to put her hands over her eyes when I yelled "FRAG OUT!"

bean March 21st, 2006 14:39

Jackel ill bring my digi cam when i come over to your place and get a vid and host it.

CDN_Stalker March 21st, 2006 14:40

Was a team-get-together at Apoc's one day, Ex_Royal went into the can to drop one, forget who it was, Helios or other, tossed in the charge to an Air-Burst firework while he was in there. Guess he needed help getting it out. Lol

jackel March 21st, 2006 14:50

Cool thanks Bean that would be very helpful

bean March 21st, 2006 14:54

Smile for the camera though cus your the one eating the bb's :D

You have got to be fucking kidding me. Unless you're talking about your girlfriend in the past-tense, as in EX-girlfriend, you're the luckiest man alive. I know girls who would have beaten you to death for that. And they're the cute, little, benign ones. You're equally lucky she didn't take one of those in the eye.
I'm impressed with your resourcefulness and creativity, not so much impressed with your risk/benefit discrimination.

CDN_Stalker March 21st, 2006 18:16

Musta been one of those bathrooms where the toilet is behind a semi wall or something. :D

If I did that, I'd be single in no time. Which would allow me more game time, more road trips, etc. Hell, more money for airsoft gear!!!!!!!

The Saint March 21st, 2006 18:55

I think we should nominate jackel's girlfriend for some sort of award.

FieroGT March 21st, 2006 20:52

Am I the only one who thinks throwing a device, that Jackel previously admited could take out an eye within 5 feet, at someone un-prepared in a confined space, with no eye protection, is a completely fucking moronic thing to do? All I see is people posting thinking its a cool idea to get video and do it again - you may all also be semi-retarded in my opinion.

I think flame retardant has been put on his thread, even it it was dumb for him to do what he did. Unless it was pure joke on his part.............

jackel March 21st, 2006 21:38

OK ok everyone can calm down she is ok as she was in the shower and there was a rather rigid balistic shower curtain between her and almost certain death. Funny to see how many people got bent out of shape about that post ( thinks to himself that he is sure glad he did not tell the kitten drowning joke). So just to set the record straight, there were absolutley no girlfriends hurt in the production of my grenade. Although I did get a slap in the face!

And here as a peace offering are some pics to drool over!

Set one off in a card board box and show us the box, that'll be a peace offering. We already know what grenades look like.

jackel March 21st, 2006 21:42

It is not going to penatrate corragated cardboard. It will how ever make a very large mess

mirage13 March 21st, 2006 21:45

Oh, pretty please, yes!!

may not penetrate, but drop it insaide, set it off and cover the top. when done, cut along the seems to reveal all teh indentations in it :)

bean March 22nd, 2006 07:17

Dont worry all will be revealed next week when i stop by with my camera.

jackel March 22nd, 2006 11:02

It is looking like the grenade bodies will be around $30 and the burst tubes will be 3$ ( The bodies will be re-usable while the burst tubes will not).

Gryphon March 22nd, 2006 13:20

Über 1337! Gots to try this.

gandar March 22nd, 2006 13:38

I'd pick up a few in a heartbeat. And I was under the impression from your post she was actually on the toilet, not in the shower. It was still funny, now it's funny and safe :P:D

SockMonkey March 22nd, 2006 13:55

Haha Jackel you lucky you only got a slap in the face! I would have got a kick in the nuts! I would also be intrestedin your grenade. Keep up the good work.

jackel March 22nd, 2006 15:19

Here is some rough diagrams that I made to show kinda how they work. And please don't ask if this is theory as I have a working production model.

lol

jackel March 30th, 2006 13:22

What is funny about the diagrams

GraveTech March 30th, 2006 13:23

So the spoon is attached to the burst tube and when the spoon pops off the tube bursts...?

gandar March 30th, 2006 13:47

Does the spoon stay attached to the grenade? Is it part of the body assembly? Or does it come with the burst tube? 'cause I'd like to see some way of having it remain attached to the grenade if it's not replaceable, I'd hate to have to hunt around for a grenade *and* a spoon afterwards.

bean March 30th, 2006 14:22

I should be stopping over at his place tomorrow. So i can get some photo's and all that shnazz then. Will also be picking up mine if i can.

gandar March 30th, 2006 14:31

Sweet. Keep us posted :D

bean March 30th, 2006 14:36

Will do im having an informal pistols only game either this weekend or next that ill test it at agaisnt about 6 people.

Karma March 31st, 2006 15:47

maybe i didn't notice it, but have people noticed these guy's grenades?

http://www.milsimlabs.com/

kinda interesting

btw Jackel, i think i prefer how yours work better, it took me a bit to get my head around your design, but it looks sound, videos will prove beyond all doubt... looking forward to it....

bean March 31st, 2006 18:40

Ok so i just got back from his house. Jackel is a god. The grenades work awesome and ill get the videos up soon prolly tomorrow morning. He probably wont reply because he has about one zillion bb's on his floor to pick up.

I must say i was really impressed by it and it was quite fun to make a mess of jackels house.

The Saint March 31st, 2006 23:57

Not to belittle your video skills, but those videos really do leave much to be desired. I can see the grenade popping apart, but no BBs. If you get a chance to do them again, I'd recommend dropping the grenade in a large clear container of reasonable BB-resistance, like a thick glass vase or Gladware something, and just put the camera beside the container.

BTW, Jackel, since the grenade pops apart into two like that, any plans to link them together with a piece of string to ease their recovery post use?

jackel April 1st, 2006 01:41

ok I tried my hand at video tapping these buggers with sound on my web cam. The prob that is happening is that the bbs are leaving it really fast and just not being visible on the cam. Well enough talk try this

http://www.zippyvideos.com/608369188...est_1/original

The Saint April 1st, 2006 01:43

Jackel, that's like a picture of you... Not a video.

jackel April 1st, 2006 01:45

fixed

bean April 1st, 2006 11:25

Its hard to capture cus the bb's move fast and my camera is part of my shitty digi cam. The grenades will be tested at the game on the 29th of this month.

The Saint April 1st, 2006 13:48

I'd be happy to indirectly observe the BBs if that's the only way you can film them. Take a card board box, cut out as much of the sides as possible and replace them with plain paper held together by masking tape, leaving the box's corners alone for structural support. Rig a grenade to explode inside the box and film the BB impacts against the paper.

jackel April 1st, 2006 13:51

that is a good idea I will see what I can do :-D did you check the video link it is working now and has sound

bean April 1st, 2006 14:01

Fuck looks liek i need to visit you again jackel. Well figure out another time to do it.

There's no video, but there's sound. If one turns their volume up, they can clear the BBs clattering against things. It's fair progress. :)

LucidFox April 1st, 2006 14:30

Imagine getting beaned in the face by that at a game >.<

Mysteryfish April 3rd, 2006 02:30

It does work...

Question:

- Is it a delayed BANG, or is it triggered by impact?

jackel April 3rd, 2006 10:40

it is triggered by impact

pvted April 9th, 2006 20:43

Does look preety cool, but yet it's like expensive i can have like 50 big macz wit that money lol. yet their is another type of grenade is called the AHG mabe by like sum spanish peeps it' uses baking soda wit water and citric acid to make a explosion to shoot bb's up ur pants. i got the link,- http://www.airsofthandgrenades.com/AHGenglish/index.htm

Chingyul April 10th, 2006 01:18

I don't think people will want baking soda residue on their gear.

Neat though. I remember seeing their prototype a long time ago. Nice to see them get a final design done.

jackel April 10th, 2006 09:16

Mine will be cheaper because it is reusable at 30$ and the AHG is one time use at around (8$). You do the math

this is a good site, they got a realy cool claymore that realy shoots a wave of bb's

The Saint June 6th, 2006 23:47

*casts Resurrection*

So bean, jackel, what's the word?

Claymore July 1st, 2006 23:49

OK who kidnapped Jackal and how much do you want for him? I'll pay American!

bean July 2nd, 2006 00:04

Its still in the design process. A few minor flaws were found with the grenade design.

Claymore July 2nd, 2006 11:25

That's understandable. I thought perhaps you guys were holding him for ransom, LOL. Glad to see someone working on a useful item for the game.

bean July 2nd, 2006 11:29

we had him up for ransom but he singe handedly ate more food thent he ransom was worth let alone the cost of bb's.

Claymore July 3rd, 2006 21:11

Don't feed him garlic then...... If it works on him like it does on me, the pair of us could rule the world with nothing more than a butane lighter or a match!

bluetooth July 17th, 2006 17:58

What are the burst tubes made of and do you make them yourself?

CDN_Stalker July 17th, 2006 18:46

I still prefer less than $2 hand grenades that are disposable (word is the local field has bean sprouts growing where we'd use them) and have a huge impact while being safer than a clear mini shooting 0.12g at close range with a huge bang. Lol, all others seem lame. Of course, that's just me.

Iceman July 17th, 2006 19:41

Oh the DOW cracked that one a while back, eh Deeds? ;)
Ours do wonders too mouahahah.

bluetooth July 17th, 2006 20:36

Wasn't it shared info from Warmongers that DOW benefitted from? Or you talking about something completely different? ;) I recall twice giving Deeds full instructions on the making of cool yet safe grenades. :-)

Dirty Deeds July 17th, 2006 21:12

Yes it was.

It's the way it happened, when I made the first one, I never said where I got the info, and in all the rush for OPQPII, it was never talked about.

Hehe, great stuff! Actually, at one point Iceman asked me about my ides and the grenades, I gave him full info too, I think that affected the coolness of QP2 special effects somewhat.

Hehe, just watched the video of ya Deeds, brave man for trying them indoors! I see and hear the glee of your inner Warmonger after the BANG!

They shouldn't be a problem, I can't see a single reason for these not reaching you provided they don't mark "flashbang" or "grenade" on the customs declaration forms. :smack:

It was quite awsome to try them indoors. I actually liked it, as you can see.....lol

CDN_Stalker July 18th, 2006 09:23

Oh ya! They are super loud inside, hence the reason we try to avoid using them inside. It's not that they are dangerous due to projectiles, just the bang is harmful. And best part about them, aside from the effect, is they are dirt cheap to make.

bluetooth July 18th, 2006 17:55

I found this cool dummie grenade that has a safty pin and the spoon shoots off on impact.Heres the link http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...nu2=1183#17286.

Gryphon July 19th, 2006 09:53

Just so no one thinks I've abandoned the project, I'm still working on getting UK-style stuff here. Canada Day and the fireworks season kinda put that on the farthest burner.

Ghillie973 July 20th, 2006 14:31

I just placed an order for two "flashbangs" from www.milsimlabs.com.

I sent him an e-mail and he replied saying he hasn't had any problems with customs as he he ships them as a "toy cap device." Since they only cost $5 a peice, it's not really a big deal if they do get taken.

Anyways, I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

I just got the flashbang grenades today. Overall the build quality is very cheap, but $5 for a reusable grenade it's not bad. I had him ship them to me without any of the markings on it. The bang isn't too loud. The sound of the metal clip hitting the plastic is almost over powers the bang from the cap. It's also very light so it woud be safe for indoor
