What is with the 'new wave' of super small chest rigs these days?

Eagle 2x mag pouch x2
HSGI medpouch thingy
(forgot brand) admin pouch

Chose these patches for Halloween party last night as my RRV became my variant of the CDN_Stalker tactical drink carrier.

High speed low drag? I learnt that playing with too much gear on you just slows you down, that's why i now use a minimalist setup on my RRV, and plan on buying a SLICK.

I get that, just figured you really cant carry a lot of stuff...two mags doesnt seem like very much :/

Yeah, 2 mags ain't enough, but how about fastmags/kydex/mag shingles on your belt, reaction hand side? Now that's high speed. Minimal rig + a good belt is the way to go.

EDIT: Sorry for shitty pic, just took it with no sunlight obviously. Will take better pics tomorrow.
Kitlist:
EI FSBE RRV, bib folded,
EI double m4 x3,
EI MBITR w/ United Star PRC148,
Ferro Concepts Utility pouch, AOR1,
Petzl Cordex gloves (freaking awesome for 30$),
SOG seal pup elite w/ kydex,
Plastic cuffs (1.99 at Prefair in Beloeil, QC),

I dont use any backpack on the field, but if i ever need to, i use my ILBE assault pack (I no longer use a hydration bladder, switched to a blackhawk nalgene for green ops)

I like the rig Phil.

Just a friendly suggestion - why not move the MBITR pouch so it is in-line with the shoulder strap on the right?
Then you can run you comms and antenna through the shoulder elastic loops/webbing.

technosnob October 30th, 2011 19:56

2 mags are plenty if you are playing at TTAC...the games are quick and to the point.

I'll let the MBITR where it is, but instead i'll use my antenna cable to run it on my shoulder loops w/ my TEA PTT cable. Thanks for the tip :D

Tape is soo much cheaper. Besides, I've seen Kill game, his tape works better than most "mag rubbers". They also have the benefit of not causing fitment issues as tthe tape pushes down and can be folded. While the colour of the tape he uses bothers me, that's my only complaint.

I personally went a bit fancier, I cut some strips of paracord, put them on my magazine in the position I wanted and then electrical taped around the magazine to hold them into place.

If you want to waste $20 on peices of junk, be my guest, but theres a reason alot of people (Actual military people, not talking about airsofters in particular) still use the tape or tape W/ Paracord method that gave birth to your "mag rubbers", 5 magazines cost me less than a dollar, if I even have to buy the materials, to do, I RARELY if ever replace them, and they work just as well if not better.

Also, Permal, welcome to the world of better gear :P

I'm wondering this myself as there's not too much room on them. In my opinion, it limits some of the advantage of modular systems by removing "real estate"

Gonna try get a pic of my stuff up today, but I switch between a CIRAS (Set up for whatever I need), Some Israeli Defence Force vest I have, Webbing, Chicom and CF Tac vest.

Though the CF tac vest is a peice of shit and I only really bring it out to ensure it's adjusted properly before going out to the field with it. Airsoft gives me the advantage of stopping to adjust it. Once I know it's adjusted I usually throw it back in the car and use one of my other rigs :P

I don't know if I consider it "better", because I already went threw 2 Cavalvy PTT in a span of 2 games. When I was using my xbox head set I went threw 2 head set in a span of countless game with in a year.

In 99.99% of the time I would totally agree two mags are not enough...but it's an option to run it that way. It is a slick plate carrier and will be used in conjunction with a chest rig for the majority of the time.
