Well yes, but cant you adjust the scope itself to compensate for that?? not completely certain so feel free to correct me..

FOX_111 April 2nd, 2006 08:02

You should be able to compensate for the hight of the mount, to a sertain amount. Added the compensation for the shot itself. In some cases, the scope must be ajusted to it's maximum elevation ajustement to shoot acuratly. Mostly because it's not desingned to be used with a BB gun.

I like to keep my scopes as close to the barrel as possible. On my M24, my 40mm scope is almost touching the barrel. I'm glad I don't play with paintball gogles!

Some mounts are windage adjustable. Both the high mounts on my two rifles have quite a bit of lateral adjustment, is kinda annoying though, but hey, is what I have. Could be that yours are this type (screw adjustments on either side) and your scope is out of whack. Look down the line of your receiver/barrel and see if the scope looks like it's directly in line with it.

Amusingly enough, Lithium, a thread popped up with an illustration of why a high scope can be problematic: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=26011

It was outranging a ca m24 that was further upgraded then my gun 2 games ago now its scary to think what its going to be like.

Spas-Tick22 July 2nd, 2006 16:58

SO has anyone heard rumors about a Styre Scout being made for airsoft? i bought one in Realsteel and absoultly love using it at the local range, thou the farthest targets are a little too close to effectivly call it range shooting. i know that its not all about the gun in sniping, but considering how you guys are all Airsoft snipers, im willing to ask.

Operation: Eye Popper

I noticed how nice it shot when I owned it. (first owner, I bought it for Chrono)It seems to 'loft' the bbs so much nicer. And the hop up stays put when set which is so damn nice.

What are you going to use for ammo?
