Oh, I didn't know he had a video series... I'm going to have to look that up.

Is that the exact title of the series? "AGI Gene Shuey HowTo 1911/2011 Gun Building and Tuning"?

the4thpower3 May 25th, 2009 13:40

No, I think it's called Building the Ultimate 1911
YouTube has partial videos. http://www.youtube.com/user/AmericanGunsmith

Here is the actual DVD set (to buy) http://www.americangunsmith.com/view.php?id=126

There's a ton of stuff written up already on other sites.

Try Arnie's Airsoft as a start

Searching for "Race Gun" or "Hicapa" will result in lots of good stuff. I think there's a couple of main Race Gun threads.

Read through those...there's lots of links to other articles as well.

A general Google of "Hicapa Race Gun" will also get you a ton of info.

There's a good article on Airsoft Atlanta (or maybe Airsoft Retreat?). Goes into what mod does what.

Also google "Airsoft IPSC". That'll return links to clubs and they'll have articles and links as well.

Sadly....CAPS has nothing....

Trader's Airsoft is also loaded with tuner info.

It's because we keep it so closed...

Race gun's back to the top.

It's not mine...I just built it.

I just finished mounting the AimPoint CompC SM and the Dawson Precision ICE Heavyweight HardChromed Magwell.

The gun isn't quite finished yet, but it's close.

Those are nice grips. Where are they from?

RacingManiac August 30th, 2009 11:48

I think they are KJW grip....now comes stock with the new KJW 6" Hi-Capa...

the4thpower3 August 30th, 2009 20:38

They are KJW grips. They feel nice. I like the undercut trigger guard. The grip is slightly larger at the bottom than a TM grip. I had to do a bit of fitting to get the magwell seated.

BTW, have you guys seen the new "pre-painted - custom" SD Grips on DenTrinity? Kinda pricey though.

Shirley August 30th, 2009 20:41

Wow, I've never seen those grips before. Awesome!
I'm wishing I knew someone who can anodize my parts into red. :p

they are pricey for what it is, i'd rather try to do it myself at home.

on another note, while on den trinity i found those fancy grips as well

Here's my TM Hi-capa 5.1 Stainless courtesy of Shao Armory (Cbcsteve)

I'm still trying to get the kinks out with the metal slide, here's what it looks like with the NOOBKILLER 5000 slide, and then stock w/magwell.

I have a silver 3-hole trigger and silver hammer spring housing on the way as well, will update when they are installed :)
