its my thread, i might as well start it, i've ALWAYS liked the MP5. its just so versitile, it almost becomes a part of your body. metaphorically of course. anyway, even though it only uses pistol ammo its still great. a shot to the head is a shot to the head.

A shot to the head at 350+ meters with 9mm is more like a hard punch to your kevlar.

My favourite of all time is the HK416. Before that it was the M4-SOPMOD, and G36KE

I own (AS) the G36, now just need the 416, and we're good

i don't think thats fair saying that haha. The MP5 wins for its versatility, ergonomics, ROF, while still having a lot of penetration power just to do its job. Who will "snipe" you with an MP5 350+ Meters away anyways lol.
Well that info applies to Real- Steel. For airsoft though, most AEGs have pretty much, equal performance.

If you like to put it this way, then the .50 Barrett is way better than the HK416 because the .50 cal. have confirmed kills 1000meters+ away.

no offense here . just expressed IMHO

Glocks are pretty nice for me

I'm in no way disputing which gun can do what. I know the 416 can't reach out, and smack ya at 1km. I'm merely stating that a pistol round is nowhere near rifle round effectiveness.

The Mp5 is definately a solid weapon. However, it's calibre is a huge downside. Probably a downside that would get me killed.

if we're talking calibers... shouldn't this go in the off-topic section?

I got no real steel experience so :P

M60, not even chuck norris can beat Rambo!

That or an HK417, you can keep your little girly 5.56mm ammo.

And doesn't .50 cal sniper rifles have confirmed kills at more than 2400 meters?

Probably. The 12.7mm is a giant round, with alot of momentum.

5.56 is better for CQB (IMHO) because the follow-up shots don't require too much adjustment. Also, I think 5.56 is easier to control in auto, or 2/3rnd burst.

(@ Lutnit : You gotta show me some pics of your completed 417! Can't wait to see it finished )

I like long barrel, long range rifles such as M-16 and M-14. I find them somehow noble because they are weapon of marksmanship. One shot one kill. Even if it's not necesserly the most profitable phylosophy for moderne combat, I still like the idea.

I don't know what any of you people are talking about!
my favorite gun, by far, is the Rheinmetall 120mm L55 smoothbore!
It's what they put in the Leopard 2s

FYI a rifle is what your thinking of, a gun is something you find on tanks, field artillery, and naval destroyers.

HK21E; belt fed, high reliability, abnormally accurate (for a machinegun), select fire semi-burst-kickass, and has a magazine adaptor so you can REALLY use it as a rifle lol
