I used King Arms metal 68 rounders on my VFC SCAR with no problems.

Hi Danke, thank you for your reply, i assume my king arms 120 rounds should work then.

Just wondering what battery mostly used for the scar. Mine coming with a lipo 7.2. I am thinking about using my old 8.4 1100mah from m4a1. any suggestion...

I used a 3 panel LiFE battery in mine. 9.9V 20c, 1200 mAh.

SCAR

I have both the heavy and light VFC Scars. The only issue I have ever had is the metal plate on the but stock where the pin goes threw. One side bent when I was in a rush to change batterys. I carefully bent it back in place, but I can see a crack at the bend of the metal.
I have changed pistons, springs barrels etc on these guns. They have become my number one (H) and back up (L) guns. Both Tan body. I'm still thinking about the SSR???

Getting a VFC Scar H SSR, and read through all these threads and have two several questions.

Heard about the old versions with plastics bushings. I assume that is all metal bushings now.

Where do the trades sit now. As of today, what trades can I expect?

Is the gear box V2.5 or V2.0?

AFAIK, they all have metal bushings and the Scar H gearbox is version 2 with a longer nozzle similar to the SR-25.

Does the Scar L have a longer nozzle like the H?

Is the Scar L magazines proprietary? The pics if the L magazines shows a extra bump at the mag catch area.

VFC or G&G ?

I know the VFC Scar are now without trades , but how is the quality of the G&G since they have the rights to produce it?

VFC looks a lot better IMO. That, and when you release the bolt catch it sounds more satisfying. I got my SCAR without trades and simply got them engraved.

just a side note, my SCAR gen 2 is 3 games old, all stock.

Yesterday, the clear rigid piston had its 1st tooth purely snapped off. And today...

a standart v2 tappet plate works perfectly. I also toss the "auto-shimming" spring on top of the related gears. Sounds useless IMHO if you know how to shim right


I'm very happy with it, it's my 3rd one lol. Wanted to try something else but went back to VFC scar.
lonex M100sp spring, lonex 8mm bearing bushings, teflon tape mod (cylinder head), silent piston head set, piston head o-ring enlargment mod, madbul 363mm python v2 TB, madbul shark red hop-up bucking. paired with 7.4v lipo/9.6v mini. No need to velcro tape the magwell, crappy chinese metal mags/green label pmags feeds perfectly

Agree, ended up with a VFC Scar. Got to see an G&G in person and you can see the quality difference.

Just wondering what's the best motor scar owners have used on stock scar's.
Only upgrades are prommy 363 inner and m110 spring.
Gearing more towards high speed motors.
