Quest for the perfect M1911a1

Hey guys.

Getting pretty tired of my KJ MEU. It's a nice gun, but I'm more fond of the classic ww2 style M1911 over the modern. So i'm looking to sell this one off and look for something new.

I am looking at a TM M1911, then upgrade it with an FMU kit, but I've got enough expensive projects on the go. What options are out there that are full metal and worth the buck stock?

Thanks!

KJW, like the MEU and most other KJW guns they are workhorses. You wont need to buy a slew of new mags the MEU mags are compatible if you can live with the silver mags and bumpers. that will help keep costs down.

Ive been checking out the KWC 1911 co2 and it looks awesome for an old school 1911. the finish is great, only problem is that the trades are not engraved, and it shoots hot around 380. but u can get it from asia then. not sure how reliable their airsoft guns are but they make extremely reliable blowback 4.5mm bb guns.

and with co2 u can play in cooler weather

I'd recommend just the basic TM plastic 1911. You'll get the best performance out of that. If it's a gun you're actually gaming, not just a wallhanger, that's the most important aspect. A full metal 1911 or a metal kit on a 1911 will just hinder performance.

^What he said. Even though its plastic, the TM 1911 feels solid and kicks pretty hard. You can use it as a workhorse and FMU it later if you choose to. For a metal kit I'd recommend PGC or Nova. Mind you they'll cost as much (or more) than the gun.

How are the KWA 1911s? I think they have a classic M1911A1 style coming out soon.

Ino or WA if you want a wall hanger otherwise just buy a TM and get an FMU kit that suits your fancy.

The prowin kit looks nice but will probably cost an arm and a leg. Prime, Zeke, and Airsoft Surgeon will cost you an arm and a leg and your first born, that is if you can even find one in country....

Also the KWA's are very nice but they don't have a classic 1911 out yet, it's all the MEU and tacticalized stuff these days.

EDIT: Forgot about Guarder, they have a VERY nice classic frame set for fairly cheap outside the country. ~$120-130 in Asia so probably your best bet if you don't want to pay too much for an FMU kit.

An arm and a leg and your firstborn? What if you have no children? @_@

Then probably both your kidneys would do.

Just to give an idea, a Prime metal slide/frame kit that costs ~250 in Asia would probably cost over double that to bring into the country through a custom order.

KWA has a 1911 'army' version coming soon.

Tm all the way. Used a kj 226 for the longest time. The mags kept leaking, 2 out of the 5 that I have don't work. I picked up a tm desert warrior Meu. Best thing I ever did.

If you want one that looks closest to the WWII era 1911 buy a TM or go with the KWC, no engraved trades though which sucks and it also shoots very hot.
