10-4 Macguyver.

If there is a legal way to do this I would be willing to entertain the idea. From the sounds of it, this may not be the case.

I have built several unique companies that all revolve around firearms in some way or another. I wouldn’t for one second jeopardize my career, or the careers of those who work for these companies by dabbling in the grey market for a couple of extra bucks. I will still be in touch with my contacts at CBSA tomorrow to get their take but from the chatter here, it may be a moot point.

Thanks for the input.

It's nice to see someone in position to POTENTIALLY be able to do something actually want to look into this. I'm not hopeful in any way that this will happen, but if the possibility exists, then it's at least worth looking into at the very least. It's a lot more than anyone in our little community can or will do.

Really, what throws a wrench into the gears is the law classifying airsoft guns as replicas, rather than air guns that they are. Yes, they are replicas, but so are thousands of other CO2-powered .177 and .22 calibre pellet guns being sold every day at Canadian Tire stores across the country. And these pellet guns have the ability to seriously injure and potentially kill, yet they're allowed to be bought unregulated to anyone over 18. Either airsoft guns need to be classified as imitation firearms, or most pellet guns need to be classified as replicas. IMO, it's nuts that they have them classified differently.

So until that part of the law changes, I don't see anyone being able to legally import and sell non-clear airsoft guns. I hope I'm wrong and that Silvercore can pull something off, but the odds are seriously stacked against him from the start. Till the law changes, airsoft in Canada will have to live in the grey area where ownership is not illegal, but importation and transfer is. And Canadian airsoft enthusiasts will have to continue breaking the rarely enforced laws to accquire guns for their personal recreational use.

just thinking, even if you are doing force on force training, it might be possible to use that as a reason to choose airsoft as a training weapon, then again you'll have to restrict yourself what you import to avoid problem. (Yes that means no AKs, probably sticking to ARs, Glocks etc) and PTW might be depending on your training targets.

A license to import airsoft does not limit you to what type of guns you can or can't get. Be it an AR or an AK, an airsoft gun is viewed as a replica, for whatever purpose it's imported. There is no differentiation between them.

what I'm saying is that the reason for your importation. Most of importation does not have good reason to import over 200+ guns if your doing motion pictures. Since he's doing Training Centre, I would say limit his own choice to save himself and AK does not need to be use in training, since it's illegal cept Valmont Hunter Reg/ Auto

Although I would love to have another retailer, I suggest you take everything said in this thread that supports you opening a business with skepticism. Do not jeopardize your livelihood.

Do your research and talk to CBSA and if they put it into writing that their is a green light to retail then perhaps start a seperate company to do so.

Another revenue possibility is the rental / Lease of these guns during large events in your region of operation. I'm sure most airsofters would like to test drive a SystemA PTW for a day.

Yes it is possible to abuse a loophole with a renewing lease for 1$ (after a damage/security deposit).

For everyone else you cannot buy a bag of BB's and get a free gun. That is called the Strawman rule USA. It's like getting a friend to buy an illegal good for you somewhere else.

No. It makes no difference what airsoft guns you import.

... that can't be a real question... I mean, what could possibly be better than a spinning multi-barreled BB-bukkake metal cock?
