The 'black' looks like it would work pretty well in thick triple-canopy jungle, actually.

Here's the thing about the 'tropic' pattern. If the base colour of the regular multicam shirts seen here- http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/da...012/05/AOV.jpg were to be more of a tan or green colour as opposed to almost white, it would be perfect for the jungle anyway. That scene is from the movie 'Act of Valor', in that part of the movie it was crazy how much the off white shirts stood out in the jungle environment, sort that out and the new pattern becomes almost redundant!

I'm a skeptic fyi!

These were AC shirts. Look at the G3: the color more closely matches the pattern.

AC:

G3:

As for redundancy... read the piece on Soldier Systems: http://soldiersystems.net/2013/11/26...vents-website/
or the graph for those more visual. They definitely overlap and were designed as such, but in lush, green vegetation to include spring/summer in most of Canada, the jungle is definitely a huge improvement.

Announcing this patterns multicam suddenly becomes not so universal and "multi" as they told before mass production of it years ago
As for me this new patterns doesn't make any revolution. They trying to sell just old pattern in new colors. Not more. There is other much older camouflages making their jobs not worst than this new multicam colors in same environments

The Multicam Tropic looks like the meld of dpm and cadpat with a touch of tigerstripe.
The Alpine MC reminds me of German winter cam that's beem sitting in the bleach for too long.
DO like them. though
