MC51 real steel accessories, mags

Hi

I'm getting a TM MC51, a gun I've wanted for a long time.
My question is, what real steel parts could fit on it? I guess handguards and sliding stock?

Also, what kind of pouches fit the G3 mags best? AR pouches?

M14 pouches fit best. imo

Any G3 accesories will fit this gun is essentialy a shortened G3, they are solid guns I stil have the original HK51 which are essentially a MC51 with a stock and longer barrel.
try finding a RAS foregrip for your accesories and a full stock for a bigger batteries



One of teh upgrades you should look at before adding more weight to a flimsy TM plastic body is a good quality metal body

Cool yeah, although I want it to stay a CQB gun so I prefer a sliding/folding stock but the RAS and metalbody are a good idea. Anyone knows where I could find a metal body?

I've owned an MC51 in the past. As Wildcard, said, before looking for Gucci parts, you need to replace the following for durability, assuming you don't already have a full-metal gun:

Cocking tube
Upper receiver
Selector Switch assembly <--- get the metal one made by TGS; you'll thank me later

Also, the mags are too fat for M4 single pouches; you can stuff them into doubles, but as was said previously, M14 pouches are the way to go for modular gear. If you like old-school, CF-issue FN L1A1 pouches on an '83-pattern rig work, too.

re: metal body - one of the retailers had one in the AV section, IIRC

would the CA ones do? I saw Ken has the cocking tube in stock but its CA

Yeah, CA is good shit for G3's/MC51's/HK51's. I also edited the above post - Cottoni has a G&G metal body in stock - I don't know if the CA tube and G&G body will work together , though.

I'd do it ASAP. The cocking tube keeps the whole front end (esp. the inner barrel) aligned with the body - remember, the TM G3/MC51 is an old design and does not have a one-piece barrel. It doesn't make sense to tie a rigid metal cocking tube to a thin and flexible plastic body - you're losing any benefit gained from the newfound rigidity of the front end to body flex, and a heavy front end on a lightweight plastic body is just looking for trouble. Best to do both a the same time. Keep in mind you can order the cocking tube from overseas - it's not a restricted part.

Oh good so should I buy the cocking tube alone and then the receiver when I find one? My question is can Iput the metal cocking tube on the plastic TM body?

the HK51 still sport a 1st gen Classic Army G3 Body, cocking tube and lowers. this body was probably the best CA ever made, they ran into fitment issue a few runs afterwards probably due to the mold being worn down but recently I had the pleasure of holding the CA SAR offizer which is esentially a MC51 with a stock, the body is flawless in terms of weight, build and fit.

My reccomendation is bug your local retailer to score you some CA body, I had teh G&G MSG90 stock they are total crap I end up putting the original stock back on the are a bit sturdy comapred to teh G&G

Alright but with the metal body, do I need the cocking tube too? (I havent hold one in my hands just yet soI cant really tell how it looks like)

it's good to get the complete kit the mix and match of plastic and metal body may cause unwanted play for the inner barrel, My old MC51 platic body lasted as a rental for 4 years before I had to swap the body so ultimately it is up to you and the budget you have whether to upgrade or not

alright well I was going to get my local gundoc evaluate the state of the gun anyway so if there's anything wrong I'll just change it.

So for my original question, what real steel parts could I put on my gun (after I change the body to a metal one)
