gbb mag lip change

I do feel a little dumb asking the question but...

I have here a 1911 MK II mag from KWA. I have to change the feed lip and I am wondering if I need to vent it first. Mag is full as I store them with gas in them, but can't fire it as the lip prevent the mag from going out of the magwell. Do I really need to vent the gas out before changing it ?

thanks in advance

Nope. Shouldn't have to unless the valve needs to be removed to access the feed lips.

from what I can see.. the lip goes all around the valve on the top. I'm almost sure that it would not need to be empty to change it.. but didn't want to remove the lip and be sprewd of propane. And I didnt want to vent the mag as I heard it was not good for the seal (immaright?)

Venting gas would potentially freeze the seal, so yeah, bad

From what I know of kwa's mag, no need to remove the valve to remove feed lip
Just remove the screws on the top and you should be good to go

I just looked at the mag in the MKI I have in my store. No need to vent the gas, it's a standard feed lip replacement procedure. Just knock out a pin.
