King Arms P90 - requesting help for rebuild...

Hey guys. So here's the story.

My buddy trades his pistol to a guy who offered him a KA P90 with five midcaps, was suposed to be in "shooting condition". So he gets it. Seems to work okay, but he finds out the nozzle is destroyed. So I figure, "okay what the heck. New nozzle and it should be good to go." Turns out this thing is a bit of a nightmare.

I open the gun to find that the two tabs on the body that hold the plastic plate that puts pressure on the gearbox from the stock are both snapped off. So the plate moves and the gearbox moves when the trigger is pulled. The nozzle, as mentioned, was destroyed. Why? Because someone didn't align the gearbox right and it was slamming against the Angel Custom hop up they had installed. Already have a metal nozzle en route for replacement. The gearbox being misaligned probably also is why the rear tabs for the plate are broken off. Also, is the adjustment dial on the Angel Custom supposed to move freely? I can rotate it all the way around with just a flick. Pretty sure something's wrong there too...

So I decide to test fire it myself. Safe functions normally. Auto works normally. Semi however does not. I took the gearbox out and inspected the trigger contacts and the semi contact is damaged. There's a chunk missing from the one side, not to mention they were black from scorching. I cleaned up what I could.

Finally, the upper reciever wobbles like mad. Seems like it's just so worn it won't hold itself in place.

So, I turn to ASC for some advice regarding these issues. I've tried looking online but I can't seem to find where I can buy replacement contacts - should I just contact King Arms directly? Or is there a place i can buy them? Any way I can make the receiver more secure so it doesn't clack about so much? Any suggestions about securing the back plate? I have no idea what happened to the tabs, they're both long gone so JB welding them is out of the question.

Any suggestions, advice and help is appreciated.

you need a new body, those tabs are important for keeping the gearbox in place.

The trigger contacts are standard among all marui clone p90s.

The tabs are known to snap off marui bodies when there is excessive gearbox movement and vibration. It's likely that the back plate wasn't tightened enough and the vibration of the gearbox used the screws to pound out the tabs. Either that or some retard over tightened the screws which led to the tabs snapping off.

Your friend got hosed. What you got there is now a parts gun if you can't replace the body.

Wonderful. I doubt fixing this one would be much less than buying the new one. Should a MOSFET be installed to provide additional protection for the trigger contacts in the future? It's not using a Li-Po battery, but it'd help regardless wouldn't it?

A basic mosfet will definitely help, that's what they're for, and there's plenty of room in the p90 to do it. The only issue is wiring it might be a bit tricky with the double trigger, but I don't think it's much of an issue, mine pulled gate wires off the auto trigger.

Why not try to return it to the seller? Why are people complacent with receiving broken stuff?

I've already talked to him, he is going to try to get his pistol back and return this POS that was sent to me for repairs. It bothers me when people are just so blatantly dishonest about the condition of their stuff when selling it, and even more annoyed that anyone so inexperienced at re-installing a gearbox so horribly as to completely destroy the nozzle and then turn around and say its in "shooting condition" would even do shit like this themselves. But I digress. Hopefully it will get resolved, but I don't hold high hopes. If the original owner pulls crap like this, I don't hold much hope that they will take it back. This was a sale of a local Facebook buy/sell/trade thing just so it's clear... if it was on ASC it could be dealt with a bit better and the people would be more reliable I think... as it stands, I just hope he gets his pistol back. I don't think it even has more than 50$ in value to be honest.

Installing a FET will prevent further wear on your contacts, and if you can make the contacts "barely work" then they will be fine once you install the FET. FET installation is SUPER easy on the P90. Wire the FET straight to motor negative, wire the battery positive straight to motor positive. Wire FET signal wire to trigger contact #1, rig up another signal wire from contact #2 to motor positive. Simple and most efficient wiring method for your setup.
