Thumbs up Madbull NEW RIS system for the L85! Finally!!

Brand new MadBull fully licensed SA80 (L85) rail system.

http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/news2/25057

From what I have read, this RIS system will fit ,ICS, G&G and Army Armament L85's. Unfortunately there is no mention that this RIS system will fit Star/ Ares L85's which I own a Star L85. Still , it's nice to see this rail system finally come out. Now if I can get my hands on one, I will try to fit it on my L85.
cheers

Now the only questions are: Where to I buy it? and How much? Oh yeah, and: Do they accept AMEX?

Hm I knew Madbull would do it eventually. Looks like you need a battery box for it :\

Long overdue update
http://www.madbullairsoft.com/Englis...roducts_id=357

Apparently this rail has been released now but I haven't seen much in the way of pricing yet and I have not gotten a straight answer from Madbull as to the fitment on a Star/Ares L85 version. Still searching though and I'll post up when I do about this long awaited rail for the L85!

cheers

Any info on compatability with the L86? I know the 2 have different handguards, but I did see the pics with the top swung open.....

On Firesupport.co.uk it mentions 135 british pounds...

The madbull persons told me that the ICS conversion kit is being finalized as of last week.

Should be able to work considering the L85/L86 are somewhat the same build in terms of Airsoft.
Try this link: --->http://www.madbullairsoft.com/Englis...l85_22_LRG.jpg

Update:

I found it at airsoftgi for 115 USD.

No sign of ICS/WE adapter though...

Did anyone see it elsewhere?

Thanks for the pic, it gave me a good look at it. I doubt it is compatible though. The L86 does have the "pop top", but it unlatches on the bottom to swing the side open for battery change. Stock stocks (?...lol), for the L85 & L86 are not compatible.... so it seams for this aswell.

My Standard and Carbine hand guards, both have "Top latches" but this is for the Star/Ares model. Your referring to the ICS versions. Madbull is working on the kit for the ICS L85's but they did not really give a timeline. http://www.facebook.com/pages/MadBul...=wall&filter=1 As far as I know I asked Madbull regarding Star/Ares L85's for the rail and got a "MAYBE" answer.........Not what I wanted to read or hear about. I wonder why in the hell Madbull forgot about Ares L85's??? Guess they thought differently I suppose or forgot perhaps, still I am already working on ordering one very soon.

I installed it tonight on my ICS L85.

It's very nice!

The ICS adapter isn't available yet but I used this

http://www.madbullairsoft.com/Englis...products_id=50

to fixed it to the ICS picatiny rail. No wobble but not "game" solid.

Two cons with the rail:
1- The sling mount needs a new screw since the stock one is too short
2- New batteries are required since the battery space is now about 21x24x200 mm. Sticks of mini NiMH/NiCd or Lipo/LiFe should be fine.

I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Here's the pics

The ICS convert kit should consist of a small metal piece that is attached to the upper body with 2 screws. A third screw, on the bottom of the rail just before the trigger guard, secures the rail to the upper body. The rail slides on the metal part beneath the front sight quite tightly, it should not wooble.

All in all, a very nice addition to the L85.

Redwolf has the rail handguard, and they include the ics/we conversion kit for the dame price without the kit anywhere else. Ordered mine today :-)

Nice, very nice. Mines in the mail. What rail do you have on the top of the rifle as mine has a different rail system (Star/Ares) version on the top and not referring to the Madbull item you added.
