It really is the middle ground between a GBB and a springer.
Why would you even recommend this to a player

Er.... Why not? I've read some fairly positive reviews about the new TM AEP, and it seems like there are plenty of upgrades in the works to make it better. You're thinking that I'm recommending an EBB or something, are you? 'Cause like, the difference is pretty obvious.

Rufus, I happen to agree that an AEP would be an interesting choice for a sniper's backup. Just never thought of them as they are fairly new on our market. Nobody here would ever recommend an EBB.
Please remember that in Canada some of our rules, extreme weather conditions/differences and availability of equipment are quite different.

We do know what we're doing, and like your comment on silencers we just adapt the equipment to what works here.

If I had a sniper weapon, an AEP would probably be just fine as a choice.

I thought you were talking about Mini electrics and the electric pistols that shoots like 0.12's, powered by R6 batteries?

Grab yourself a TM Hi-Capa.
31 round mag
fast cycle time
excellent accuracy and range

I use one because my primary shoots really hard, when I get close or for CQB.
If you want performance for CQB, Id say you should get the AEP G18c. Its fast and can hold alot of ammo(with that huge mag comming out). But it doesnt have much for range.
Springers can have lots of range, but reloading is ugly slow...and most feel like crap. Your gonna pay close to as much as a GBB for a hi-performance springer.
GBBs are fun, sexy, and effective. Range, power, good rate of fire. Thats what you want for pistol-games.

Sure, its impressive to kill someone with a springer....but in an indoors pistol-only game, its gonna be rare. Get something thats gonna make you the most effective player you can be, a AEP or GBB...personally, Id go GBB.

AEP if you play outside, or in the winter.

GBB if you play in the warmth of the summer or indoors.

Considering the low opinion of EBB or Minis, no. We dont suggest crap.
Do some reading about AEP. And give us some credit.

my friend Mud have a AEP G18c. I was shot twice by it. It's very good. You can feel it quite well. It's nice low cost backup pistol.

The rate of fire is quite good too.

Actually the atlantic provinces have games every 2 weeks and there is like atleast 15 players from NB that play you should check out altanticairsoft.com im personally from halifax but we in the atlantic might have fewer players but still play games, aswell many people have GBB's so you can look at them aswell a few have a springer or two.

Hey look, a springer vs. GBB thread ... never in my life have I seen a thread such as this. Oh wait, yes I have, I think it was last week.

This is probably the same thread because I posted it a week ago.

I'm going to step up and put in a vote for GBBs, if only because they're the most fun to shoot of any airsoft guns. Period.

Price difference can be kept to a minimum, assuming you weren't planning on buying some POS UHC springer (if that was the case, you can stop reading my reply now). You're paying $100-150 for a decent TM springer, and $200-250 for a good used GBB.

I dunno about you, but for me, racking the slide before every shot is 'Meh' at best. Someone proficient with a GBB can put two well aimed doubletaps on you in the time it'll take you to take one shot (if you're still alive to take it).

People do get kills with springers, but it has more to do with a player being stealthy and capable of sneaking up/ambushing a target than the springer being an formidable weapon. If nothing else, the springer forces a player to be extra careful since he'll be massively outgunned in an all out firefight against GBBs/AEGs/AEPs.

Also true that GBBs (gas guns in general) don't work well in cool/cold weather; this only matters if you plan on playing in cool/cold weather. Green gas works in cool weather. Some stock mechboxes crack in cold weather, too, and people just don't go out and play if it's too cold anyway, in which case thd gas thing is irrelevant... this all depends on you. Will YOU be out in the cold?

AEP. From what i saw (and shot with), GBB's cant compare to these in range and accuracy. You dont get the cool blowback though, which sucks. For realism, GBB for sure. For preformace, AEP all the way. Just dont get nearly the velocity with AEP.

Someone let me shoot their AEP at the Guerrero Plantation game. I must say I was quite impressed with it.
