weight, capacity(compare to AEG), and gas reservoir size for rapid firing....

I think in airsoft gas in mag is definitely a compromise....what you gain in realism is lost in some practicality...

you can reduce the compromise if its CO2, hell even HPA would work (just make sure you can unload 40 rounds in a 30 rounder)
Capacity doesnt seem to be an issued, if you want to have large capacity why not go paintball (where everyone is running and spraying)

I just think the GBBR is meant for what firearms is used for:
Semi for most part, auto fire is for assaulting to prevent people's head coming up.

You are preaching to the choir, but the shortcomings and compromises are real, especially compare to the majority of airsofter with AEGs. As a business competition to the end users' bucks all that could sway the decision of a buyer, and the less that are convinced by GBBr's upside the smaller our niche will be, and less stuff will be available and prices will stay up.

Even as a training platform the gas in mag's weight is a big hinderence...try doing a speed reload flinging your 1lb gas mag across the floor(hell if you do a Magpul style speed reload you might knock the guy next to you out when it hits his head...lol), especially when its fragile and costs over $60(WA style mags are a bitch too because they are so damn complicated compare to say a TM pistol mag, which is relatively simple to maintain).....even with a CO2 powerlet I don't know how much they like to be dropped on the floor...

Thats exactly the way i feel about GBBR.

Cuts down hicap sprayers that kill realism (at least for me).

and plus its your only way of shooting auto in Canada....(your gonna need to dry fire, and set the fps for NPAS to 0)
Honestly I have so much fun when it is like that. (except if you load a mag your gonna get alot of bb in your reciever)

Back to main point, heard couple of people were chatting about this, and so far...if you're gonna have this setup, your based gun is gonna be no cheaper than $1600 and that's DIYing by building a GBBR group up. (Of course if you just purchase the lower reciever and bolt it cuts down to $1450)

Couldn't they make some kind of reservoir system in the stock of the gun? Like a Full-Stock with a huge reservoir of gas? This would (help) prevent the quick temperature drop. It would still look good / be realistic and would allow you to get some cheaper/readily available mags.

umm thats where the bolt carrier goes when you fire. So far the only solution for the problem are:
*HPA Mags (when pigs fly) or CO2mags
*External Air w/ the hose right above behind the grip (so 1 point sling can hide it)
*HPA/CO2/Gas store in the the form of Shells which will make a dummy launcher.

AGM mags are like $40CAD shipped. The GEN2 one's take propane directly.

Stock = where the bolt carrier blows back into...

Sure you can hide a reservoir in a M16 stock, but most people prefer to be able to use which ever stock they want = gas in mag.

I mean at worst, you can go crazy and get 10 mags for like $350-$400CAD max... thats not 'that' expensive compare to certain gbbr mags.

Don't you guys already spend $30-$50 a mag for gbb pistols anyways?

I dunno, but honestly, AGM mags even my Gen 2 Lightweight it still leak in venting gas. And just to add on that, ITS FRIGGIN heavy. (sorry Im a weight whore, I keep my gun to the basic so it reduce weight)

Anyone else remember the day of $50 TM locaps? And those weren't even as involved as a GBB mag.

Iv gone through 6 AGM gen2 mags, no leaks, no problems...

But yes they are FRIGGIN heavy!

Working on reducing weight + fitting them in PMAGS

AGM, WA, Bomber, 5KU GBBR mag internals will NOT fit inside of a PMag.
GHK is the only WA-platform mag internal that has been successfully mod into a RS PMag shell.

WE M4 / SCAR mag internals can be mod into RS PMags...no problem!

You're gonna need to mod on extreme scale with the GHK mag inner modded as well. I didnt realize how bad it was, (I abandoned it) I've asked Jdizzle from the systema forum who sells pmag, he look into it and say its not worth the time and money. (probably is gonna spend too long and make it too expensive)
