G&P SPR/A Not firing

I just got this thing the other day and after firing about 30 shots it stop firing bb's. I can still pull the trigger and the motar still runs but makes a long whining sound. the battery is a large 9.6v 3300 fully charged. i tryed the adjustment screw in the bottem of the hand grip but that just changed the pitch of the sound.

Any Ideas?

Few things to check:

Tappet Plate

Pinion Gear is it chewed up?

Wire position in the grip around the motor (very very picky about where they are on this model).

These are the manuals G&P sent me when I was in contact with them in regards to mine:

Please click the link "M4A1 Metal Body" and follow the instruction of pictures 61 & 62 or you can download the manual at:

Tappet plate is inside the gearbox, if you've never worked on one before I'd suggest finding a gun smith to do it for you. They have a tendency to break in the G&P's.

Also when using the first link use: M4A1 Metal Body (Colt M4A1) as it is the same gun, just different front ends and trades.

well it's not the motar wires (seeing as there is really only one way to put them in there) so it must be internal

Does anyone know where i can find a weapon smith in southern Ontario?

It could also be the press fitting of the bevel gear as well. If the splines on the shaft have been worn smooth, the motor will turn the "bevel" portion of the bevel gear, but not the smaller gear that connects to the spur gear.

It would explain the long "whirring" and pitch change when using the adjustment screw. I had that happen on a couple of gears so far, yours included I think Wiseowl, but yours was just the shaft and not the smaller gear.

I think Gump might still be doing repairs in southern Ontario GTA area.

Easy way to tell the tappet plate broke is the gun cycles fine, you hear the piston going back & forth, but no BBs are coming out. Like has been said, the tappet plate inG&P guns is weak and is prone to breakage. I had that experience with an SPR last year.
