Not really... if you actually look at the numbers and the costs of getting said parts in to Canada, it's only a couple of hundred dollars, tops, to do a receiver conversion.

Thanks for your comment!
I just feel if i don't use the RS parts on mine, it will be a waste to buy a PTW.

I order the part by part from Surefire and put all those parts together.

Yeah, I hear that.

I actually calculated everything... Looks like I could be saving $500 (1000+ if you include the ACOG) by going all AS shit. Hmm..

Right now, it's just a matter of what's more durable. I still want to have money left for an rs upper, and possibly one of those crazy modded lowers (not RS)..

I will say RS upper is a must item, i am still figuring out which RS upper i should get.
Since so many PTW users have the Vltor one, i want something special.
Diemac C8 one is the one i want. But it is kind of hard to get one.

Yes, a good laser module usually pricey, especially with the IR laser and IR illuminator.

The only laser module i have is the Insight Tech LAM 200 (AN/PEQ-6).

I have a few Colts A1 and a Colt SP1, I am waiting on a Bushmaster A2 and possibly a LMT that I might part from if the price is right...

Hmm, is the PTW not metal? Why the need to switch out the receiver for another one of the same material?

Just wondering if anyone finds the RS uppers to be too tight to fit the cylinders?? I have a Colt SP1 ,an A2 not sure of make (got it in a trade) and now I just got 2 Armalites .And of the four none of them fit my 4 cylinders.
I've just started to lap the Colt ,the lapping compound I have is fine ,so it's taking time ,but it is opening it up slowly.
All the threads I've read ,no one has mentioned this.I have a tool being made to cut the back end of the upper for the step in the cylinder. The other cuts I'll build a jig for the dremel wish me luck LOL

yes, you will need to enlarge the back portion of the receiver to allow the cylinder to fit, I am a dental Technician so grinding all types of metal is easy for me along with my high speed and high torque handpiece or even a lathe....however you can use a hard stone and your dremel to accomplish this, i suggest that you install the charging handle to make it easy to take out the cylinder.... however, you must make sure that the cylinder is perfectly alligned....but everyone has their own techniques, i like to measure everything and plan out on paper before I start trimming....

Hey, how did you manage to fit the SP1 since the hole are bigger...
