Thanks when or if you have a chance would you mind a pm. And let me know what they asked to become a club. Bad time of year for me to go bug my psp. I'm more concerned about becoming a club. As I and two other guys play airsoft. Within my Sqn. That I know of. And others around the base.

Would love to start a base club. Be covered for games. And get time off for big ops etc.

Released reservist, served seven and have been out for four. This would be interesting, as Conker stated it could set a precedent and afford both the CF and the airsoft community a unique experience. Chatting up those already working with military bases with respect to airsoft events is probably one of your best steps. Hope my vote helped, and if anything comes of this I'd make the trip back to Edmonton. For more than just visiting our bretheren out there

Reg force, Petawawa and there's a good sized community of airsofters around that base. I remember some of the guys there wanted to use the MOUT site for a game but I think that fell though.

Ok CFB Borden has an active paintball club and they game on base in a training area. I have contacted their club preisdent to see what they have in place that allows them to deal with the liabililties. I hate to compare us to paintball but... if I can lump us together in the eyes of the base commander... we'll see.

Bonus is that alot of paintball guns are looking more and more realistic everyday if that may be one of his concerns.

Paintballs considered an extreme sport. Which may hurt us. As we are not. Apparatus they played airsoft inthe boredon field before. And rules got changed. Etc. and it was stopped. Maybe someone there can confirm if they allow it or not now

^They still do allow it. http://www.bordenpaintball.com/start.php - This is there site. The rules they follow are pretty standard as far as paintball fields go.

As far as saying airsoft is an extreme sport, no. The comparison I will try to achieve will be stricktly the fact that we are shooting less than lethal projectile at each other and that one is comparable to the other in terms of FPS and energy delivered.

While there is a VERY VERY slim possibility, or so I'd imagine, due to the rod and gun club and paintball clubs, you best have your shit together right tight if you're going to drag this in front of the CO.

This is entirely your choice to try this, and best of luck to you, but be prepared for the bridges to your goal to be burned in front of you.

FYI, voted for you

Yes I know. But what I mean is paintballs a sport. Airsoft is a hobby. So it may be harder. But comparing it to paintball regularly would be a good idea. Same concept.
We have a higher fps but lower weight. So impacts actually less. Less messy. Etc. we have stuff going for us over paint

There is a CANFORGENS out that recognizes certain extreme sports as insurable according to VA (IIRC). I'd have to dig it up, it came out years ago. And I'm on leave. I don't know if that includes airsoft (under paintball as basically the same sort of activity.)

I think your making reference to CANFORGEN 061/09 CMP 027/09 061655Z APR 09
CHANGES TO THE CF SPORTS PROGRAM, however the it does not identify which extreme sports are recognized. It does identifiy which extreme sports are not recognized and it does not list paintball or airsoft.
