Done annnd done. my PDW has done that with .3s (4 second delay between shots)

They exist, but apparently the nozzle tappet-less design prevents feeding beyond a certain point. Cannot find the source, but I recall people feeding 37rps on a PTW.

Try tooth pick size. I had a setup last year that can pick off tooth picks at 10 meters. I got mostly 4/5 shots, but it was due to me using iron sights. If I had a scope, I'm confident it would have been 5/5. Crazy ROF and FPS is just for show. Just my opinion.

You're think too much on the internals, try thinking about externals. Like for instance, I'm working on making a bolt pistol from 40k using my glock18c aep as a base. Try looking at a fictional gun you've seen from a movie or video game and try bringing it to life.

rof guns only serve to give better trigger response in semi. since you can't get response time any other way in an aeg. Above 30rps full auto becomes rather wasteful very quickly.

Also tends to turn you into a liability because most opfor will start to gun for you the second they hear where you are. Or, when they know you aren't in their general vicinity, they may push harder on your teammates.

Correction, you don't need to have a high ROF setup for a fast trigger response.

Yes. No precock, no high speed anything. I've built guns shooting under 30 ROF, and the trigger response is fast as a micro switch trigger (ASCU). It's no secret. It's been done by many for a long, long time. Right gears, with right motor, and a 11.1 lipo with do it.

Could you measure trigger response?

I measured my SR16 when it was doing 40 RPS and trigger response was 1/20 of a second checked on audacity.

yeah... right gears.. like 13 or 16:1, with a torquey motor and 11.1... which will give you over 30rps. which is considered a high rof gun according to some.

I'll give that a try. I no longer have that setup so I can't really tell you how fast it was by numbers. But I did compared it to my ASCU setup, and it was just about the same. Crazy fast trigger. Anyone that has been over knows what I'm talking about.

Like I said, no high speed parts are used. A high torque gear set + motor + 11.1 lipo and a few tweaks and tuning will give you a very fast trigger. I found in my builds, that high speed set up are slow in the trigger response.

For trigger response I'm the other way around. I tend to get a high speed setup and then tune the trigger release timing so that I get just the right amount of precocking from overspin, but that I still don't double shoot.

what's your metric for using audacity to determine the response time? from the time the motor starts and the end being silence?

Are you taking into account the physical pull of the trigger? If you're looking at the sound that's cycle time, and we're on the same page. "As soon as the cycle is initiated, how long to completion."

Personally I can't see how a slower motor on gears that require more turns from the motor can accomplish a faster cycle response than a short ratio and neo motor. Near instant top speed output from the neo motor, fewer rotations of the pinion to cycle the gearset.
