A fellow I know (ex-airsofter as well) just bought the real one. I'm not sure on models AI specifically, but his had a different muzzle break. It was .338 Lapua as well, but he spent ALOT more than what the airsoft version will cost. The gun was $6500 and he spent another $3000 on a scope and mounts, or something like that.
Rounds cost about $6 each, or about half that to re-load.
So, the airsoft one should be a bargain, even if it's $1000, but it won't have the same recoil as the .338, lol!!
