I don't remember how I did mine, but put the dust cover where it should be, slide the rod in until its about to reach the middle opening, then hold the spring the way it needs to be, and slide the rod through it. Before you attempt this make sure you know how the spring it supposed to be.

Looking at my spring. Concerning the little ends sticking out. Left is from behind the bar and on the reciever, right is from in front of the bar and on the exposed side of the dust cover.

Those fake body pins/ lever ends can be apoxied on.
