Thankfully the problem lies in the silencer threading, not the gun. I've tested this by trying my silencer onto another gun and the same problem was encountered. In fact, upon closer observation, the threading on my silencer seemed loose enough to slide partially over the threading on the gun.
I've been using teflon tape and it holds so far, but is there any other way to fix this? Can a replacement part be machined?
