G&G pretty well the new standard for starting out. Fairly reliable, very compatible with upgrade/replacement parts. It's a good gun to start with.
Things you'll need;
safety glasses (Z87.1+ or higher)
gun
ammo
mags
battery
some kind of LBV
BOOTS
that's about the bare minimum I can think of right now lol
